GOLD BEACH There will be new things to see and do for the young and the adventurous at the fair this year, said Manager Ron Crook of the Curry County Fair that opens Thursday.

He said a trampoline with bungee cords will allow bouncers to safely achieve heights of 25 feet. There will also be a rock-climbing wall.

The Marines will host a chin-up contest and give awards. Children should enjoy racing on a miniature truck track.

Rides will include bumper cars, the Zipper, the Graviton, the Magic Carpet, the Whirly Bird, the Whirlwind, and many more.

The fair opens at 10 a.m. Thursday with $3 admission for senior citizens. All exhibit buildings will be open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Curry Public Transit will provide free shuttles to the fair from the Chetco Senior Center in Brookings Thursday and Friday.

Free entertainment on the outdoor stage will include Charlie Brown, the comedic juggler, Washboard Willie, the one-man band, and Gentle Biff, the balloon art clown.
