Jasmine, the pot belly pig, has found a home in Pistol River.

The pig was well known in Brookings-Harbor because she lived for years in a pen at the side of the Hog Wild restaurant. She dined on snacks given to her by restaurant customers. Sociable, she responded when her name was called.

But, the restaurant closed this week, leaving Jasmine with no place to go.

Kathy Salander, the owner, is suffering from cancer, and must temporarily relocate to Medford for radiation treatments.

This left Jasmine with no one to take care of her.

Jasmines need was reported in Saturdays Pilot. I want to find a good place for her to live, she said.

The new owner is Paula Nemeth of Pistol River. Jasmine was moved in a horse trailer during the weekend, Salander said.
