STEPHEN DONNELLY FOUND DEAD IN HOT TUB

GOLD BEACH Curry County Planning Commission Chairman Stephen Donnelly, 50, was found dead in his hot tub Saturday morning by his wife Lidia.

Capt. Mark Metcalf, of the Curry County Sheriffs Department, said that a deputy was dispatched to Donnellys Miller Ranch Road residence at 9:11 a.m. Saturday on an unattended death call.

Metcalf said an open death investigation is underway, with an autopsy scheduled for today (Oct. 18) at the crime laboratory in Central Point.

The Curry County district attorney and medical examiner are involved in the case.

Metcalf said unless the post-mortem indicates otherwise, his office has no reason to believe that Donnelly did not die of natural causes.
