Shirley York at Curry Transfer and Recycling said people who normally receive garbage pickup on Monday should put out their trash for collection Tuesday.

People wishing to dispose of Christmas trees may do so for free at the garbage company office, 17498 Carpenterville Road, York said.

Trees may also be dropped off for free at the companys transfer sites at Wridge Creek, Nesika Beach and Port Orford.

For a fee of $4.50 people may call (541) 412-2425 to have trees picked up at their home, she said.

Trees must be cut so that they are no more than 4 feet in length and all lights and decorations must be removed. The final day for pick up is Jan. 15.

Chetco Community Public Library will be closed Monday but reopens Tuesday for its normal hours.
