OLDS INJURED IN CAR WRECK

By SHELLEY JELINEK

Lloyd Olds, former Curry County commissioner, was being evaluated at Sutter Coast Hospital Tuesday night after being involved in a two-car collision approximately three miles up North Bank Chetco River Road.

Olds was driving a Chevrolet station wagon northbound in front of a blue Toyota pickup truck driven by Brian Riddle.

A black Jetta driven by Noah Mitchell, 19, was heading southbound, swerving in and out of his lane, said Sheriff?s Deputy Kris Cappello.

Riddle and Olds slammed on their brakes. The passenger side of Riddle?s truck hit the rear of the station wagon sending Olds? car into the ditch. Riddle?s truck did a U-turn and came to a stop in the middle of the road, Cappello said.

Riddle and passenger Troy Brennan, 16, were not injured. Olds was the only occupant in his vehicle.

Everyone involved in the accident was wearing seatbelts, Cappello said. No alcohol was involved, she said.

Both vehicles appeared to be totalled and were towed by Les Brown.
