PILOT STORY AND PHOTOS

BY ANDREA BARKAN

Brookings-Harbor student dancers dazzled their audience Wednesday night during the Bear Delights' Annual Dance Camp show.

The action-packed show featured dancers from every grade in the school district. Their performances elicited cheers from the packed gym at Brookings-Harbor High School.

The high school's Bear Delights dance team kicked off the show with the interpretive routine they'll perform during OSAA State Competition later this month, choreographed to andquot;Roadsandquot; by Portishead.

The Bear Delights performed five routines, alternating with performances by dance campers, high school cheerleaders and dance team members from Azalea Middle School.

Dance campers were broken into four grade-level groups; each did their own routine.

Melody Gossard, Bear Delights coach, acknowledged the team's graduating seniors, introducing each girl and her parents.

andquot;This is going to be one of the hardest group of seniors to let go,andquot; Gossard said.

The Bear Delights' fifth and final performance of the night was a dad/daughter dance that delighted the crowd.

Decked out in Hawaiian duds, the girls and their fathers shimmied and shook to the Beach Boys classic andquot;Surfin' USA.andquot;
