Chetco Federal Credit Union (CFCU) will offer a class "Understanding Your Credit Report and Fraud Detection," free to the public, at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, in the Community Room at the Southern Oregon Community College campus, 96082 Lone Ranch Parkway.
The class will shed light on the details of credit reporting and educate guests on today's most common types of fraud.
Susan Lunsford, CFCU's Certified Credit Union financial counselor (CCUFC), will be presenting this information with Michele Later, CFCU's Visa specialist.
Throughout her 12-plus years at CFCU, Lunsford has worked with members on everything from loan modifications, to budgets and financial education.
"Helping people advance themselves to the next financial step is my goal," Lunsford said.
Michele Later has been CFCU's Visa specialist for seven years. She has more than nine years experience in electronic banking, dealing with debit/credit cards, merchant machines and card fraud. Later will provide an overview of fraud activity in today's world.
"What you don't know, can hurt you," Later said. She is looking forward to providing helpful information on ATM skimming and contactless cards to better protect finances.
Reservations are needed, as seating is limited. To register for the class, contact Lauren, 541-469-7700, ext. 1056, or stop by any CFCU branch.
