Death Notices:  A Death Notice is published free of charge, in print and online. The deadline is 4 p.m. the day before publication. This format is limited to:
    – the name, age and current town of residence
    – date and place of birth, and date and place of death
    – dates of residence in Brookings area
    – time, date and place of services
    – name and contact information of funeral director
    – name and contact information for bequests

Regular Obituaries:  This format follows the traditional obituary style in typeface and news-style format, including a portrait, as submitted by the family or a funeral director.  We have a form to help guide you through the normal information included in an obituary.  As always, we will help edit for style, accuracy, and good taste. The format will include a line identifying who submitted the information.
     The charge for these is $95, including both print and online publication, unless the obituary is more than 14 column inches. For Crescent City coverage, these can be duplicated in the Daily Triplicate newspaper at an additional charge.
     The deadline is 10 a.m. the day before publication. These must be pre-paid or billed to a funeral director with an established account.

Display Obituaries:  The display, or boxed, format allows the family or funeral director to create a special remembrance with additional artwork or photographs, special typefaces or other extra treatments.  We  will help you with the design and production at no additional charge.
     The charge is also $9 per column inch, including both print and online publication. For Crescent City coverage, these can be duplicated in the Daily Triplicate at an additional $7.30 per inch.
     The deadline is 3 p.m. on Wednesday for Saturday’s publication, and 3 p.m. on Friday for Wednesday’s publication.  These must be pre-paid or billed to a funeral director with an billing account.
