The Brookings-Harbor High School volleyball team picked up an impromptu game against their cross-border rivals, the Warriors of Del Norte, and lost in three straight games 11-25, 20-25, 19-25. “We lost, but the girls played much better in the second and third games,” Head Coach Lori Cooper said. “The first game showed some nerves, but they settled in a little and played much better as we went.” Christy Reynolds had nine kills and 11 digs, Lakota Hatcher had five assists and six digs, Whitney Floyd had four kills and five digs and Shawndee Hatcher had five digs in the game. Cooper is optimistic about the teams season even with the loss. “I’m confident that we will get better with each game we play,” she said. The JV squad was able to win in three games as they defeated the Lady Warriors 25-19, 22-25, 15-11.
