A banged up Brookings-Harbor High School volleyball team fell to the league-leading South Umpqua Lancers in three games Tuesday night (18-25, 12-25 and 20-25).
"It wasn't one of our better efforts," Coach Lori Cooper said. "We were competing in game, but I don't know what happened after that."
The Bruins (1-3, 5-5) had trouble moving their feet throughout the night as they were continually caught off guard by the numerous tips from the Lancers.
"We just weren't moving well," Cooper said. "We're going to have to step it up."
In the final game, both Stephanie Kerr and Taylor Keys went out with injuries and will be questionable for Thursday's match.
Kerr led the Bruins with 11 kills and two blocks on the night, while Dani Olson had a strong outing with 10 kills and four blocks.
Danielle Ambrose led the Bruins with 14 assists while Molly Vance added eight assists of her own.
The next match for the Bruins is a home contest against the Sutherlin Bulldogs on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m.
