The summer athletic camp season is underway with several activities available for youth along the Southern Oregon coast.
“Fun”dament ALS Basketball Camp for youths grade K-8 from 8 a.m to 12 p.m. at Kalmiopsis Elementary School gym. Cost is $30 per camper and will be coached by current BHHS coaches and players. Contact the BHHS athletic department at 541-469-2108 ext. 228, for further information.
BHHS Softball Pitching Camp at BHHS softball field. Little League age 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. High school age 2 to 6 p.m. Guest instructor is Cal State University East Bay pitcher Emily Perlich. High school pitchers need to provide their own catcher. Cost is $25 per pitcher (catchers attend for free). Contact 541-661-2005, 541-254-1532, or 541-661-5363 for further information.
Del Norte Softball Clinic from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Del Norte High School softball field. Guest instructors are Utah Valley assistant coach Ryan Wigley and All-American, University of Oklahoma player Shelby Pendley. Cost is $50 per player for the two-day camp. New scoreboard to be ready by Saturday
A new scoreboard will be in place and working for Saturday’s Little League Major division championship game at Bud Cross Park located at the corner of Ransom Avenue and 2nd Street according to league president Jason Testa.
Also, all-star selections will be announced after the game.
