Organizers of the first Brookings Harbor Funky Foot Race on Saturday expected perhaps a dozen or so people to show up for the event. The free event was a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project, which helps U.S. service men and women wounded in combat by paying for prostheses and related services. Participants paid $35 per person or $100 per team to be in the 5K and 10K races. Kid’s Boardwalk Dash competitors paid a $20 entry fee. Race results Fastest Finisher 5K: John Mileander. Fastest Finisher 10K: Corey Hartgraves. Fastest Finisher 5K walk: Shellee Courtier. Fastest Finisher 10L walk: Deanna Marrington. Most Patriotic (3 winners): Marla Daw, Adam Palmer and Chalia Milic. |
