The Brookings-Harbor High School baseball and softball teams celebrated the end of their respective seasons with banquets and the announcement of the Far West League All League team honor recipients.
Eleven Bruins were honored between the two teams with five athletes receiving first team nods, one receiving second team accolades and five being named to the honorable mention roster.
Six softball players were named to the Far West League All League team.
Alaura Marrington and Hannah Goergen were named to the honorable mention team for infielders while Halle Ostman was given an honorable mention nod at the catcher position.
Mariahn Seavello was named to the FWL All League second team for her work as an infielder.
Kayla Webre and Courtney Kay were named to the FWL All League first team: Webre, for her work in the outfield, and Kay as a pitcher.
Kay was also named the BHHS softball team’s Most Valuable Player, which is an accolade that is voted on by the team, according to Head Coach Steve Bonde.
“She pitched really well for us all season,” Bonde said. “She deserved every honor she got.”
The baseball team split its award recipients between two teams: the honorable mention team and the first team.
Bryce Aldrich and Tyler Kido were given the nod as honorable mention team members with Aldrich named for his work in the infield and Kido named as a utility player.
Joey LeFebvre, A.J. Briganti and Isaac Sanders were named to the FWL All League first team: LeFebvre as an infielder, Briganti as a utility player and Sanders as an outfielder.
All three were also named to the honorable mention team for the OSAA All State baseball squad, and Sanders has been invited to play in the OSAA 4A All Star game at 7 p.m., Saturday, June 16, at Legion Field in Roseburg.
