|CROSS COUNTRY BOYS TAKE SECOND AT BANDON INVITE|

The Brookings-Harbor High School boys' cross country team took second place on Tuesday at the Bandon Cross Country Invitational at Bullard's Beach State Park.
In their first meet against rival North Bend, the Bruins were missing several key runners (Linden Loren, Kevin Sthen and Gage Northrup) and finished the team standings in second place.
Steven Sanders led the Bruins in the 5K race with a time of 17:01, splitting up the top four North Bend runners.
Alec Rosenthal came in sixth overall with a time of 18:06, followed by the fifth Bulldog runner.
The third and fourth Bruin runners were Willie Bennett (ninth overall) at 18:24 and Chris Neighbor (11th overall) at 18:41.
Tim Hunter rounded out the scoring for the Bruins in 25th place with a time of 20:23.
In the girls' race, the Bruins were also competing without Ally Manley and Nicole Ledford, two of their top three runners.
Amy Axel led the Bruins with a 16th place finish at 22:52.
The next Bruin finisher was Andi Gutierrez who took 27th place in 24:37.
Marianne Neighbor and Charlotte Smith came in 29th and 30th with times of 24:51 and 24:52.
Krista Watterson was the fifth Bruins finisher in 33rd place with a time of 25:30, followed by Lisa Bernhard in 35th at 25:49.
The next meet for the Bruins is at Pacific High School in Port Orford on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 4 p.m.
