A late goal by Linden Loren erased a one-goal deficit and gave the Brookings-Harbor High School boys' soccer team a 1-1 tie in a non-league contest against the Del Norte Warriors Tuesday.
The Warriors took a 1-0 lead in the first half and were able to hold that lead for most of the game.
With only four minutes left to play, Loren evened the score at one apiece with an assist from Blake Peters.
"In the first half, we weren't as aggressive," Coach Gabe Anaya said. "But they came out in the second half and picked it up."
The Bruins had numerous scoring opportunities, including several breakaways, but couldn't find a way to score.
"We had plenty of shots on goal," Anaya said. "We just couldn't score."
Even with the break in league action, the Bruins still remain atop the Far West League standings with a record of 7-1-1, three points ahead of the Pacific Pirates and the South Umpqua Lancers.
The Bruins continue their league schedule on Thursday, Oct. 18 as they face the Sutherlin Bulldogs at home at 4:30 p.m.
In their first meeting of the year, the Bruins and Bulldogs battled to a 0-0 tie.
