Inger Appanaitis, a senior at the University of Nevada, Reno and a 2003 graduate of Brookings-Harbor High School, hit her fourth regional qualifying mark of the season with a throw of 47-05 in the shot put at the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championships in Boise, Idaho May 15-17.
A sixth place finish in the shot put helped Appanaitis reach her fourth regional qualifying mark for the West Regionals at Cal-State Northridge on May 30-31.
Appanaitis had already qualified in three other events for regionals throughout the season.
On May 10, Appanaitis qualified in the discus with a throw of 155-06 at the Aggie Twilight meet and qualified in the hammer throw on April 19 with a toss of 183-07 at the VS Athletics Beach Invitational .
She also qualified in the javelin early in the season with a throw of 163-08 at the Stanford Invitational on April 4.
At the WAC Championships, Appanaitis also qualified for the Olympic Trials in the javelin with a first place throw of 168-00.
She also took fourth place in both the hammer throw (178-07) and the the discus (151-11).
Appanaitis earned the award for women's high scorer of the meet as she led Nevada by scoring 23 individual points.
