Traffic stop, 10:15 a.m.: A 39-year-old Gold Beach man was cited on charges of driving while suspended, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and failure to carry or present a driver license during a traffic stop for having a headlight out.
Friday, Feb. 25
Parole violation, 4:55 p.m.: A 34-year-old Cottage Grove man was stopped for violation of basic rule near the Chetco River bridge and was found to be wanted for parole violation from Lane County. He was transported to Curry County Jail.
Injury traffic crash, 9:30 a.m.: A 21-year-old Port Orford woman lost control of her pickup truck on an icy roadway southbound on Highway 101 north of Humbug Mountain. The pickup crossed the northbound lane, hit an embankment, spun around and came to rest partially blocking the northbound lane. A 35-year-old woman passenger was transported to Curry General Hospital for treatment.
Non-injury traffic crash, 10:15 a.m.: A 68-year-old Newport woman lost control of her car on an ice roadway while southbound on Highway 101 near Humbug Mountain. The car slid into the hillside and was driven from the scene.
Saturday, Feb. 26
Traffic stop, 5:05 p.m.: A 45-year-old man from Alturas, Calif., was stopped for expired tags a mile up North Bank Chetco River Road. He was cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and possessing less than an ounce of marijuana.
Thursday, March 3
Traffic crash, 2:28 a.m.: A 70-year-old man from Sunnyvale, Calif., driving a motorhome collided with a cow north of Elk River. The driver was uninjured. The motorhome received heavy damage and was disabled. The cow was killed. No identifying marks were found on the cow and its owner was unable to be determined.
Friday, March 4
DUII, 7:28 p.m. A 62-year-old Brookings woman was cited on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and a controlled substance at West Benham and Olsen lanes.
Warrant service, 11:50 p.m.: While a 51-year-old Brookings man was being arrested at his residence for a Curry County Circuit Court warrant, a small amount of methamphetamine was found in his pocket. He was transported to Curry County Jail for the warrant and on a new charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine.
