Friday, July 8

Warrant, 3:35 p.m.: A 21-year-old Brookings driver was stopped near the Chetco River bridge for having expired license plate tags. The driver had no license or identification. It was found he had warrants for possession of a controlled substance and third-degree rape. He was transported to Curry County Jail on the warrants. He was cited for failure to carry and present a driver license, driving while suspended and driving uninsured.

Monday, July 11

Injury traffic crash, 12:34 p.m.: A 76-year-old Gold Beach woman was southbound on Highway 101 at a construction zone near Cape Sebastian summit when her vehicle stalled. She exited her vehicle and began to push it toward the shoulder so as not to obstruct traffic. The woman fell and her legs were run over by the car. The car continued to roll until it hit a guardrail. The woman was transported to Curry General Hospital with injuries to her legs.

Sunday, July 17

DUII, 2:38 a.m.: A vehicle was pulled over on Highway 101 near the Harbor weigh station and it was found the 21-year-old Crescent City driver was driving under the influence of intoxicants. A search found a small amount of marijuana in his pocket. He was transported to Curry County Jail.

Friday, July 22

Possession of controlled substances, 12:15 a.m: It was found that the 20-year-old Brookings driver of a vehicle, stopped for violation of basic rule on Highway 101 near the Winchuck River, was found to be on felony probation. A consensual search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a film canister with methamphetamine residue, a butterly knife, illegal fireworks, clonazepam tablets and less than an ounce of marijuana. The driver was transported to Curry County Jail.

Monday, July 25

Non-injury traffic crash, 8:50 a.m.: A 61-year-old Gold Beach driver was in the inside lane of northbound Highway 101 preparing to make a left turn onto Floras Lake Drive near Langlois when at the last minute, continued northbound, moving into the right lane. As a result, he sideswiped the left side of a car driven by a 59-year-old driver. Both cars were driven from the scene.
