Non-injury accident, 12:40 p.m.: A 20-year-old Port Orford man ran into hail on Highway 101 a mile south of the Coos County line. He lost control of his pickup, which rolled and came to rest in the ditch on its tires.
Saturday, Feb. 19
Non-injury accident, 6:35 a.m.: A 35-year-old driver of a car pulling a boat on a trailer lost control on an ice-covered Floras Creek Bridge on Highway 101 near Langlois. The car hit the east side of the bridge, slid across the road and struck the guardrail on the opposite side of the road, causing the trailer to come unhitched. Neither the driver, from Lebanon, nor his 63-year-old passenger from Reedsport were injured.
Non-injury accident, 7:31 a.m.: A minivan driven by a 44-year-old woman lost control on the ice-covered Sixes River Bridge on Highway 101 near Sixes. The car hit the guardrail and slid until the end of the rail. Neither the driver, nor her 48-year-old passenger, both from Port Orford, were injured.
Injury accident, 7:43 a.m. A flagger motioned for a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old girl fromWest Linn to slow down for a traffic accident in the road. She obyed, but still lost control on the ice-covered Sixes Rivers Bridge. The vehicle hit the guardrail, spun around and came to a stop. One passenger was transported to Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay with minor injuries.
DUII, 8:26 p.m.: A 60-year-old Port Orford man was arreested for driving under the influence of intoxicants on Port Orford Loop. He was transported to the Curry County Jail where a breath test indicated blood alcohol of .20. The driver was cited and released.
Monday, Feb. 21
Possession, 11:51 a.m.: A 37-year-old Crescent City man was cited on charges of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana following a traffic stop on Highway 101 near milepost 360.
