Saturday, Feb. 5
Possession of a controlled substance, 1:53 p.m: A trooper pulled a motorist over for speeding on Highway 101 near Crook Point and smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. After asking the driver about the smell, he presented a plastic bag with less than an ounce of marijuana and a glass pipe with residue in it. The 24-year-old Brookings driver was cited for doing 77 in a 55 zone and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Sunday, Feb. 6
Warrant service, 11:10 p.m.: A 28-year-old man was arrested on Grootendorst Lane for a Josephine County warrant for failure to appear on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and fourth-degree assault. He was lodged in the Curry County Jail.
Monday, Feb. 7
DUII, 9:45 p.m.: After pulling over a driver who was following too closely on Highway 101 near McVay Lane, the trooper observed the man showed signs of impairment. The 51-year-old man failed a field sobriety test and a breath test. The Brookings driver was cited on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and following to closely. He was released too his wife.
Saturday, Feb. 12
DUII, 7:39 p.m.: A 22-year-old man from Crescent City was found to be driving under the influence of intoxicants on Highway 101 near the Chetco River bridge. A breath test showed his blood alcohol to be .12.
