Friday, Aug. 26 Failure to carry or present driver license, 2:25 p.m.: A 30-year-old motorist was stopped for talking on a cell phone while driving on Highway 101 near the Chetco River bridge. It was found the driver’s license was suspended. He was cited and released. His vehicle was towed. Saturday, Aug. 29 Warrant, 11:22 a.m.: A 46-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man were contacted on North Bank Chetco River Road near Yellow Brick Road. She was found to have a warrant for her arrest for contempt of court. She was also threatening to kill herself. When taken into custody, she was tasered to gain control of her and was transported to Curry General Hospital. When released from the hospital, she was taken to Curry County Jail where a marijuana pipe and residue was found in her purse. The man was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and transported to Curry County Jail without incident. Sunday, Aug. 28 Harassment, 8:55 p.m.: Because no deputy was available, a trooper responded to the report of a man threatening people at a business in the 16200 block of Highway 101. After detaining the 71-year-old suspect, victims did not wish to pursue charges. The man was released and, at the request of employees, told not to return. Domestic assault, 9:23 p.m.: A domestic disturbance was reported on Hall Way. A trooper responded because a deputy was not available. After interviewing the victims, the trooper, with the help of IPH Security, searched for the suspect, finding him in the brush. He was arrested without incident. A deputy was now available and transported the 39-year-old suspect to Curry County Jail. Monday, Aug. 29 Assault, 12:30 a.m.: A 27-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man reported they were assaulted by two unknown men and an unknown woman while they were walking along Highway 101 south of the Chetco River bridge. The man was seriously injured. The woman received minor injuries. As of Wednesday, the investigation continues. Wednesday, Aug. 31 Offensive littering, 10:05 a.m.: A 22-year-old Harbor motorist pulled out of Court Street in front of a trooper then dropped a cigarette butt out the window. The driver was cited for offensive littering and driving uninsured.
