Assault, 12:31 p.m.: Because there was no deputy in the area, the Curry County Sheriff’s Office requested Oregon State Police respond to an assault complaint on Court Street. A 48-year-old woman called 911 to report she had been assaulted by a 41-year-old Central Point woman. During the call she was interrupted by a 65-year-old Harbor man. When the trooper, with the assistance of a Brookings police officer, interviewed those involved, the three people and a witness, all of whom were intoxicated, had different stories. The caller left the scene voluntarily. A report was filed with the district attorney.

The California driver struck the left-turning vehicle, causing it to roll and come to rest on the driver’s side. The California driver was able to drive from the scene. The Brookings driver’s car was towed. She was cited for making a dangerous left turn.

The car collided with the right rear wheel of the truck. The car was towed from the scene. The truck received a flat tire from the collission; however, the driver was told he could not drive because he had no log book in his possession.
