Friday, June 12 Suspicious conditions, 12:38 a.m.: Two men were advised that Azalea Park was day-use only. Illegal dumping, 6:57 a.m.: Police investigated the illegal use of a trash bin in the 700 block of Chetco Avenue. Traffic crash, 3:21 p.m.: A minor non-injury fender bender was reported at Chetco Avenue and Oak Street. Assist public, 3:53 p.m.: A fawn was trapped in a yard in the 500 block of Myrtle Street and the mother deer was circling the yard. An officer assisted in reuniting the mother and baby. Dispute, 5:40 p.m.: A verbal dispute between roommates was reported in the 700 block of Second Street. Minor in possession, 10:28 p.m.: Several minors were cited for possession of alcohol in the 200 block of Marine Drive. Prowler, 11:28 p.m.: Juveniles were seen prowling around in the 700 block of Second Street. Saturday, June 13 Threats, 5:50 a.m.: A camper at Miller Bar who felt threatened by other unruly campers put them under citizen’s arrest until law enforcement arrived. Theft, 9:10 a.m.: A lawn bench was reported stolen from the 300 block of Memory Lane. Animal complaint, 10:50 a.m.: A woman reported she saw a bear and her two cubs in her yard in the 97000 block of Dodge Avenue. Alarm, 10:57 a.m.: A turkey in a slow cooker activated a smoke alarm in the 800 block of Midland Way. Suspicious conditions, 5:13 p.m.: 600 block of Old County Road. Suspicious conditions, 6:42 p.m.: 700 block of Fifth Street. Minor in possession, 6:57 p.m.: Harris Beach State Park. Shots fired, 8:21 p.m.: A man in the 900 block of Timberline Drive reported a neighbor shooting at a deer, which was in his yard, with a pellet gun. Ambulance, 9:10 p.m.: A 15-year-old boy fell off the rocks at Mill Beach.
Sunday, June 14 Water problem, 12:07 a.m.: An empty apartment in the 600 block of Chetco Avenue had water running out from under the door. Shots fired, 12:54 a.m.: 99600 block of North Bank Chetco River Road. Suspicious conditions, 2:05 a.m.: 600 block of Hassett Street. Transient, 7:47 a.m.: A transient was hiding in the bushes drinking alcohol in the 1200 block of Chetco Avenue. Animal complaint, 8:01 a.m.: A barking dog was disturbing the peace in the 700 block of Pioneer Road. Hazard, 8:36 a.m.: A dead deer was reported on Highway 101 near milepost 342. Transient, 11:26 a.m.: A transient was drinking and blocking the drive-thru at McDonald’s. Transient, 11:38 a.m.: A transient was reportedly stealing cans from the Kans for Kids container at Fred Meyer. Animal complaint, 1:09 p.m.: A citizen reported a deer was hit by a car on Highway 101 northbound. Animal complaint, 2:24 p.m.: A bear was sighted in the 800 block of Paradise Lane. Theft, 4:03 p.m.: A 20-year-old female was arrested for shoplifting at Fred Meyer. DUII, 5:44 p.m.: A driver reported another driver was drinking and had an open container in the vehicle in the 16400 block of Lower Harbor Road. Dispute, 7:43 p.m.: A verbal disagreement was reported in the 600 block of Easy Manor Drive.
Monday, June 15 Minor in possession, 12:43 a.m.: Officers responded to a loud noise complaint in the 800 block of Ransom Avenue and cited several teenagers for being minors in possession of alcohol. Assist outside agency, 4:21 a.m.: Police received a report of a bear scavenging through trash cansin the 16600 block of Foster Road. Animal complaint, 5:03 a.m.: Barking dogs were disturbing the peace on Midland Way. Theft, 12:20 p.m.: Several plants were taken from a yard during the night in the 96500 block of Ocean Park Drive. Animal complaint, 1:25 p.m.: A man in the 96900 block of Hampton Road reported a pig with an ear tag wandered into his yard. The owner retrieved the pig. Traffic crash, 5:30 p.m.: An accident involving a car and a bicyclist was reported at Chetco Avenue and Oak Street. The bicyclist was transported to Sutter Coast Hospital. Suspicious conditions, 5:40 p.m.: Lone Ranch Beach. Traffic crash, 8:53 p.m.: North Bank Chetco River Road, no injury. Vehicle impound, 10:21 a.m.: An 82-year-old woman was cited for driving without a license near Rainbow Rock. Fire, 10:22 p.m.: Beach near the Chetco River North Jetty. |
