Friday, Dec. 28 Traffic stop, 12:12 a.m.: Two drivers were warned for obstructing traffic after they pulled over to check their GPS and had partially parked in traffic at Chetco Avenue and Fifth Street. Animal complaint, 9:24 a.m.: Dogs were at large around Hassett Street. Animal complaint, 12:34 p.m.: A dog owner was warned for allowing dogs at large at Pioneer Road and Hassett Street. Hazard, 2:01 p.m.: A Christmas tree was in the roadway. Possession of drugs, 3:34 p.m.: A man in police station lobby, who was disoriented and confused, was transported to the hospital for evaluation and later cited for possession of drugs. Non-injury vehicle accident, 4:57 p.m.: A parking lot fender bender happened in the 16200 block of Highway 101. DUII, 11:25 p.m.: Police received a call regarding an intoxicated driver. Officers located the vehicle in the 800 block of Railroad Street and arrested the driver for DUII. Saturday, Dec. 29 Suspicious conditions, 12:57 a.m.: A caller reported a suspicious vehicle that pulled into his private driveway twice. The vehicle was reportedly driving around in surrounding streets in the Mill Beach Road area. Disorderly conduct, 4:37 a.m.: Police received a call of a vehicle in the parking lot at KidTown driving in circles around a person who was standing in the middle of the lot. The vehicle left scene before officer could make contact; however, the vehicle was later located at Hassett Street and Old County Road and the driver warned for disorderly conduct. Hit and run, 10:35 a.m.: Damage to parked vehicle caused by a runaway cart. in the 300 block of Fifth Street. Unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, 12:39 p.m.: 600 block of Easy Manor Drive. Suspicious conditions, 1:18 p.m.: A young man walking down the street carrying a samurai sword was contacted by police at Fifth Street and Ransom Avenue. It was not concealed so no crime was committed. Suspicious conditions, 3:09 p.m.: A caller advised her street has been too quiet lately and believes illegal activity may be occurring. Assistance was rendered to the Spruce Drive resident. Non-injury vehicle accident, 4:23 p.m.: A two vehicle accident was reported at Highway 101 and Hoffeldt Lane. Civil problem, 4:47 p.m.: Neighbors were disturbing each other’s peace in the 600 block of Fifth Street. Found property, 4:55 p.m.: A black and blue wallet was found in Azalea Park. Calls to owner were unsuccessful so the wallet placed in lost and found. Assist public works, 5:49 p.m.: A water leak was reported on private property in the 800 block of Cameo Court. Fight, 7:54 p.m.: A disturbance caused by an intoxicated person was reported on Tolman Lane. Illegal fireworks, 8:48 p.m.: 600 block of Old County Road. Fight, 9:06 p.m.: 17600 block of Brown Deer Lane. Suspicious conditions, 9:12 p.m.: An unoccupied vehicle was reported in the Harris Beach day use area after hours. Possession of drugs, 9:39 p.m.: A driver was cited to appear in state court for possession of drugs at Chetco Avenue and North Bank Chetco River Road. Driving complaint, 10:46 p.m.: An intoxicated driving complaint came from a local business in the 800 block of Chetco Avenue. Sunday, Dec. 30 DUII, 1:42 a.m.: Highway 101 and Carpenterville Road. Intoxicated subject, 4:29 a.m.: An intoxicated man came into the Brookings Police Department lobby and requested to sleep in a “drunk tank.” Found property, 10:08 a.m.: A red clutch purse was found on North Bank Chetco River Road. Theft, 11:35 a.m.: 700 block of Old County Road. Shots fired, 3:57 p.m.: 00100 block of Julia Way. Water problem, 9:56 p.m.: 900 block Helen lane. Prowler, 11:56 p.m.: A person tried to gain access to an occupied residence in the 300 block of Spruce Street.
