Tuesday, Oct. 23
Tree down, 8:16 a.m.: Tree down on private road. Owner was notified of same, Pleasant Hill Estate.
Water problem, 8:30 a.m.: Alder Street.
Fight, 10:46 a.m.: City officers responded to a report of a verbal dispute between two adult males. This was a civil matter that is currently being addressed in the civil courts. No crime, 600 block of Railroad Street.
Criminal mischief, 11:13 a.m.: Trashcan struck vehicle, causing damage, 1400 block of Glenwood Drive.
Non-injury vehicle accident, 11:57 a.m.: Officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident. There were no injuries. Both vehicles were operational and were moved, Highway 101 and North Bank Chetco River Road.
Stalking, 12:12 p.m.: Citizen reported stalking incident which will be investigated further, in Brookings.
Burglary, 12:26 p.m.: Citizen reported theft of items from residence. This will be investigated further, 800 block of Brookhaven Drive.
Criminal mischief, 12:37 p.m.: Citizen reported attempted theft of vehicle. No entry was gained, 100 block of Seacliff Drive.
Assault, 2:40 p.m.: Male reported having been assaulted by his wife Saturday. Female’s story did not match. Due to the late report and conflicting stories, information is being forwarded to district attorney for evaluation and/or prosecution, 500 block of Fern Street.
Suspicious conditions, 3:49 p.m.: Attempted abduction of young girl walking on Easy Street by two adults in a dark-blue vehicle. Both occupants were wearing ski masks and the male driver yelled for the girl to get in the car. She ran to safety and reported the incident to her mother and then to police. Suspects have not yet been located, but information has been dispersed to other agencies, Sixth Street in Brookings.
Theft, 4:13 p.m.: Citizen reporting someone broke into her storage unit; complaint transferred to the county for investigation, 15400 block of Oceanview Drive.
Wednesday, Oct. 24
Fire, 2:02 a.m.: Resident at location woke up smelling and seeing smoke in the house but was unable to determine source. Brookings Fire and Brookings Police department officers responded. This was not a structure fire but the result of some long-over-cooked food in the microwave, 700 block of Fifth Street.
Suspicious conditions, 7:40 a.m.: Someone spotted flames. It turned out to be controlled burn, Harbor area,
Harassment, 10:16 a.m.: Resident upset about another criticizing her driving, 1300 block of Seacrest Lane.
Transient information, 10:52 a.m.: Male found sleeping along the side of the road. He was awakened and brought to a nearby center for coffee, Ross Road.
Littering, 11:06 a.m.: A male subject was urinating in public, Fifth and Easy streets.
Suspicious conditions, 11:19 a.m.: 600 block of Easy St.
Fight, 11:43 a.m.: Dispute between a male and a female, North Bank Chetco River Road.
Criminal trespass, 2:57 p.m.: Older juveniles refused to leave the property 500 block of Pacific Ave.
Found property, 4:39 p.m.: Backpack found at 500 block Pacific Ave., near Azalea Middle School, reported to Brookings Police Department.
Suspicious conditions, 9:14 p.m.: Citizen reported someone knocked on her window and ran away. City units unable to locate, 700 block of Pioneer Road.
Thursday, Oct. 25
Public assist, 7:34 a.m.: Harbor, Brookings and Harbor fire departments responded to a broken water sprinkler inside a store at 16261 South Highway 101.
Suspicious conditions, 9:32 a.m.: A citizen reported hearing a gunshot and believed someone was trying to scare the deer away. A police offer checked the area but was unable to find anyone with a gun, and no additional shots were heard.
Dispute, 4:35 p.m.: Officers responded to the report of two men fighting and both were using sticks as weapons. Upon contact, neither one of the men wanted to pursue charges against the other.
