Monday, March 8

Theft, 8:17 a.m.: The Brookings-Harbor High School cafeteria supervisor reported a theft from her department.  

Found property, 1:30 p.m.: Pistol River north bank.

Suspicious conditions, 2:08 p.m. 300 block of Fifth Street.

Lost property, 6:32 p.m.:  Keys were lost in the 16300 block of Highway 101.

Fight, 3:22 p.m.: Police received a report of several boys fighting on the hill between Brookings-Harbor High School and Kalmiopsis Elementary School.

Fraud, 4:32 p.m.: 800 block of Chetco Avenue.

Fight, 5:46 p.m.: 700 block of Second Street.

Suspicious conditions, 6:48 p.m.: On Dawson Road.


Tuesday, March 9

Vehicle impounded, DUII, 12:41 a.m.: A 57-year-old O’Brien man was arrested.

Suspicious conditions, 2:08 a.m.: A man from Coquille brought in a woman he’d come upon walking in the highway near Pistol River. She had no identification, possessions, and no shoes. She was taken to Her Haven of Hope for the night.

Attempt to locate, 7:28 a.m.: Police were alerted to be on the lookout for  16- and 18-year-old boys who ran away from Lithia Springs Boys Home in Ashland and were believed to be headed for Brookings or Crescent City, Calif.

Theft, 9:38 a.m.: 200 block of Wharf Street.

Fire, 1:17 p.m.: Someone built a camp fire in the middle of the roadway leading down to Miller Bar on the Chetco River. A man reported that the wind was kicking up and blowing the embers into the trees. The U.S. Forest Service and Coos Forest Fire Department were notified.

Lost property, 6:22 p.m.: 300 block of Fifth Street.

Patrol request, 7:14 p.m.: An official from the VFW Hall reported that a woman had threatened to cut down their flag pole if the light wasn’t repaired within three weeks.

Criminal mischief,  7:35 p.m.: A man reported that he came out of Fred Meyer to discover his windshield cracked and a picture frame laying on the ground next to the car. A parking lot surveillance video was checked to try and determine what happened.


Wednesday, March 10

Criminal trespass, 8:28 a.m.: Fifield Street. 

Non-injury traffic crash, 12:44 p.m.: A delivery truck managed to pull down several wires from utility poles at Hawthorne and Easy streets.

Fight, 1:10 p.m.: 500 block of Hemlock Street.

Suspicious conditions, 1:36 p.m.: 500 block of Fern Street.

Disorderly conduct, 3:20 p.m.: 800 block of Chetco Avenue.

Fight, 5:43 p.m.: 700 block of Second Street.

Fight, 8:58 p.m.: 700 block of Second Street.

Loud noise, 8:19 p.m.: 400 block of Maple Street.
