Burglary, 10:24 a.m.: 1200 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 11:27 a.m.: 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Suspicious conditions, 11:46 a.m.: Azalea Park Road.

Abandoned vehicle, 11:52 a.m.: 1200 block of Moore Street. 

Suspicious conditions, 12:41 p.m.: 900 block of Midland Way. 

Theft, 3:45 p.m.: 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Lost property, 5:09 p.m.: Port of Brookings Harbor. 

Juvenile problem, 5:43 p.m.: Chilcote Lane. 

DUII, 6:44 p.m.: 400 block of Knoll Lane. 

Runaway, 6:52 p.m.: 96400 block of Coverdell Road. 

 

Tuesday, July 27

Suspicious conditions, 2:36 a.m.: 400 block of Fern Street.

Theft, 7:23 a.m.: Sometime during the night someone broke through the back fence of a business in the 800 block of Chetco Avenue and caused damage to and stole gasoline from  three trucks.

Harassment, 1:39 p.m.: 600 block of Hassett Street. 

Suspicious conditions, 1:45 p.m.: 200 block of Cypress Street. 

Theft, 1:46 p.m.: A Fort Dick, Calif. couple were arrested for shoplifting more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from Fred Meyer store. 

Alarm, 11:49 p.m.: 1000 block of Seventh Street.

Fight, 4:52 p.m.: A female customer at a service station in the 400 block of Chetco Avenue became irate, insisting that she’d been charged for premium gasoline but had received regular. The attendant insisted that wasn’t the case and a boisterous exchange ensued. 

Threats, 7:53 p.m.: 400 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Found property, 6:53 p.m.: A man turned in a purse he found at a rest area on Highway 199, which belonged to a woman from Washington. 

Loud noise, 11:29 p.m.: King Street. 

 

Wednesday, July 28

Fight, 12:30 a.m.: Conta Lane. 

Suspicious conditions, 12:41 a.m.: 99000 block of West Freeman Lane. 

Suspicious conditions, 7:37 a.m.: Coos Curry Electric Cooperative employees discovered that the equipment yard fencing had been cut to allow entry onto the property in the 800 block of Railroad Street. 

Theft, 8:43 a.m.: 300 block of Del Norte Lane. 

Found property, 10:11 a.m.: A surfboard was found on the Chetco River. 

Burglary 10:21 a.m.: A storage unit in the 1200 block of Chetco Avenue was broken into and several guns ere stolen. 

Non-injury traffic accident, 11:31 a.m.: 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Disorderly conduct, 2:09 p.m.: A female transient was found to have spent the night in a shopping center restroom. When asked to leave, she became very unruly. 

Juvenile problem, 2:20 p.m.: Oil Can Henry’s was having a problem with teenagers riding their bicycles in the parking lot. They were told to leave, but they kept returning. 

Fire, 3:22 p.m.: Brookings Fire Department investigated a report of dark black smoke, and discovered it was a controlled, although illegal, burn in a burn barrel on Velopa Court.

Suspicious conditions, 5:38 p.m.: Ransom and Fern avenues. 

Bike complaint, 5:50 p.m.: Oil Can Henry’s was having problem with juveniles on bicycles again.

Found property, 6:31 p.m.: A wallet containing more than $1,000 was found and returned to its owner.

Warrant service, 6:49 p.m.: A transient at Mille Beach and Macklyn Cove Roads who was causing problems ended up having a warrant and was transported to jail. 

Theft, 7:39 p.m.: A 47-year-old Brookings man was arrested for shoplifting at Fred Meyer store. 

Loud noise, 9:15 p.m.: 900 block of Brooke Lane. 

Loud noise, 9:38 p.m.: Easy and First streets.
