Criminal mischief, 12:29 a.m.: Someone placed a traffic cone in the middle of the road at the south end of the Dot Martin Bridge.

Assist public, 9:33 a.m.: A person visiting from Grants Pass reported seeing a body floating in the ocean off Sporthaven Beach. The Coast Guard confirmed that it was a man surfing.

Criminal mischief, 4:04 p.m.: A vehicle was keyed while parked in the 1000 block of Chetco Avenue.

Suspicious conditions, 12:08 a.m.: 900 block of Helen Lane.

Theft, 1:13 p.m.: 900 block of Seventh Street.

Assault, 2:33 p.m. When a man, described as having long white hair and a beard, was asked not to use his cell phone inside Chetco Community Public Library, he became angry then cursed and pulled the hair of a library volunteer. Police could not locate the man.

Animal complaint, 6:16 p.m.: A black and white spaniel was found on Meadow Lane.

Wednesday, Dec. 30

Forgery, 12:09 p.m.: 900 block of Chetco Avenue.

Theft, 4:34 p.m.: A man on Richard Street went to get his snowboards out of storage and discovered them missing.

Animal complaint, 6:01: A Siberian husky was missing from the 400 block of Fir Street.

Fight, 6:02 p.m.: 800 block of Highland Avenue.

Suspicious conditions, 6:21 p.m.: 200 block of Del Norte Lane.

Harassment, 7:10 p.m.: 400 block of Fir Street.

Hazard, 8:56 p.m.: A citizen  in the 98200 block of North Bank Chetco River Road reported a transformer on a power pole was making a humming sound. Harbor Fire was dispatched to check and Coos Curry Electric Cooperative was notified.

Accident, 12:13 p.m.: A non-injury accident was reported two miles up Carpenterville Road.

Tree down, 3:17 p.m.: Two and a half miles up North Bank Chetco River Road.
