Monday, Feb. 8 Suspicious conditions, 12:45 p.m.: 000 block of Floral Drive. Theft, 6 p.m.: 800 block of Third Street. Safety hazard, 7:54 p.m.: 16000 block of Highway 101. Tuesday, Feb. 9 Theft, 2:23 a.m.: 500 block of Fir Street. Criminal mischief, 11 a.m.: 500 block of Hassett Street. Safety hazard, 1:31 p.m.: Chetco River bridge. Wednesday, Feb. 10 Violation of city ordinance, 12:08 a.m.: Three people were admonished for being at KidTown in Azalea Park, which is posted Day Use Only. Theft, 8:07 a.m.: School officials requested an officer to talk to a 9-year-old whom they said, had “sticky fingers” at Kalmiopsis Elementary School. Suspicious conditions, 9:32 a.m.: Fern Avenue and Hemlock Street. Theft, 4:08 p.m.: A 21-year-old Brookings man was arrested for shoplifting at Fred Meyer. Fire, 4:08 p.m.: Police received a complaint of a noxious odor coming from a controlled burn in the 1200 block of Moore Street. Traffic crash, 5:08 p.m.: A two car non-injury accident was reported in the 300 block of Chetco Ave. Shots fired, 9:18 p.m.: Several residents reported hearing a gunshot in the 500 block of Pine Street. One resident even reported seeing the muzzle flash, but the shooter was nowhere to be found when police arrived. Loud noise, 9:47 p.m.: A woman complained of noise being made by a man working on his car engine late at night in the 1200 block of Moore Street. |
