Theft, 6:12 a.m.: 16400 block of Vista Hills Drive.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle, 6:28 a.m.: 600 block of Old County Road.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle, 8:39 a.m.: Vista Ridge Drive.
Abandoned vehicle, 1:44 p.m.: 300 block of Railroad Street.
Harassment, 2:22 p.m.: 500 block of Pacific Avenue.
Fire, 3:24 p.m.: Harbor Fire responded to check on a burn complaint and found that it was a controlled burn and attended.
Suspicious conditions, 4:07 p.m.: Mill Beach.
DUII, 10:08 p.m.: A driving complaint was received advising of a vehicle that was failing to maintain lane and speed on Highway 101 northbound from the state line. Brookings police officers were able to locate the vehicle in city limits after seeing the driver drift and hit the curb. An Oregon State trooper took charge of the situation.
Suspicious conditions, 10:57 p.m.: A caller reported hearing several people yelling in the area of Azalea Park. The caller was unsure if they were fighting or possibly intoxicated. An officer responded and was unable to locate any problems.
Criminal trespass, 11:09 p.m.: An ongoing investigation with a criminal trespass issue took place in the 300 block of Spruce Drive.
Saturday, May 18
Dispute/fight, 1:28 a.m.: A resident at a care facility in the 900 block of Parkview Drive was becoming violent and aggressive toward other residents. An officer assisted with keeping the peace.
Theft, 4:08 p.m.: The theft of an alcoholic beverage was reported from a business in the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue. An officer was able to locate the man, cited him for theft and told him he could not return to the business.
Animal complaint, 4:17 p.m.: A young German shepherd was found running on Carpenterville Road by a citizen. A volunteer transported the dog to the Curry County Animal Shelter in Gold Beach where the owner picked it up.
Driving complaint, 5:05 p.m.: A complaint was received for a vehicle driven up and down Memory Lane at excessive speeds. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate a vehicle matching the description.
Parking violation, 5:20 p.m.: A citizen came into the Brookings Police Department lobby to report an ongoing issue with illegal parking every time an event happens at Bud Cross Park. An officer checked the area and noted several vehicles parked illegally along Third Street. All owners agreed to move their vehicles.
Non-injury vehicle accident, 5:27 p.m.: A minor two vehicle accident was reported in the 300 block of Fifth Street.
Fire, 9:32 p.m.: A caller reported a small fire in a vacant field below her residence on Ostenberg Road that was not out of control but was unattended. Cape Ferrelo Fire responded to check and found no fire, but did find a light from a nearby pole was very dim and flickering, which made it look like a fire from the distance.
Dispute/fight, 11:03 p.m.: A woman reported a verbal dispute between an intoxicated man and a bouncer trying to remove him from the premises in the 600 block of Chetco Avenue. The caller was afraid it was going to escalate. Officers arrived on scene and the intoxicated man left in a taxi for the evening.
Loud noise, 11:32 p.m.: A complaint regarding live music being played too loudly was reported in the 600 block of Chetco Avenue. Officers made contact and the business agreed to close the doors to lessen the volume.
Sunday, May 19
Dispute/fight, 12:11 a.m.: An officer contacted a woman who was out walking on North Bank Chetco River Road near Azalea Park with her daughter following a verbal dispute at their residence.
Juvenile problem, 1:23 a.m.: An officer checked on report of a possible curfew violation at Bud Cross Park and Ransom Avenue.
Dispute/fight, 2:50 a.m.: 98100 block of West Benham Lane.
Stalking, 10:34 a.m.: 300 block of Fifth Street.
Injury vehicle accident, 12:31 p.m.: Frontage Road and Highway 101.
Assist public, 6:55 p.m.: A citizen was given a restraining order packet and contact information for victim’s assistance in the 600 block of Fifth Street.
Disorderly conduct, 7:01 p.m.: A juvenile was warned for disorderly conduct near Lundeen Lane.
Prowler, 11:24 p.m.: 16000 block of Driftwood Lane.
Monday, May 20
Harassment, 12:26 a.m.: A citizen reported an ongoing harassment problem with a neighbor in the 500 block of Hemlock Street.
Fire, 1:05 a.m.: Brookings fire units responded to a residence to check out smell of hot electrical wiring in the 200 block of Macklyn Cove Road. The homeowner was advised to contact an electrician later in the morning after no fire was located.
Shots fired, 3:11 a.m.: A citizen reported hearing about seven gunshots on Mill Beach near Macklyn Cove. An officer contacted two men walking in the area and completed a thorough search of the beach. He was unable to locate anyone needing assistance or any shell casings, which may have been buried in the sand.
Prowler, 4:47 a.m.: A neighbor was attempting to notify another neighbor of suspicious activity in the Macklyn Cove area was mistaken for a prowler.
Criminal mischief, 5:49 a.m.: Graffiti was reported on pavement outside the Brookings-Harbor High School cafeteria. A custodian photographed it before cleaning it up.
Littering, 9:52 a.m.: A 72-year-old man urinating off the Chetco River bridge was warned for offensive littering.
Dispute/fight, 11:10 a.m.: Verbal dispute among family members was reported in the 1000 block of Easy Street.
Forgery/fraud/bad check, 2:52 p.m.: A fraudulent charge on credit card was reported by a citizen in the 700 block of Pacific Avenue.
Warrant service, 9:09 p.m.: A man was arrested at Chetco and Ransom avenues for a valid Curry County Circuit warrant for contempt of court and was transported to Curry County Jail.
Animal complaint, 9:36 p.m.: A vicious brindle-colored pit-mix dog chased a bicyclist at King and Wharf streets. The bicyclist escaped injury. Officers checked the area shortly thereafter but could not locate the dog.
Loud noise, 10:22 p.m.: A citizen was bothered by loud construction at Fred Meyer and asked about noise ordinance. They are doing work that can only be done at night, but the foreman said they would stop using the horn.
Disorderly conduct, 11:13 p.m.: 97900 block of Court Street.
Loud noise, 11:43 p.m.: 400 block of Hillside Avenue.
