Friday, Feb. 28

Fire, 2:38 a.m.: Brookings fire units responded to structure in the 1300 block of Moore Street. 

Suspicious conditions, 9:35 a.m.: 400 block of Fern Avenue. 

Suspicious conditions, 12:40 p.m.: 17300 block of Parkview Drive. 

Lost property, 12:49 p.m.: Social Security Bar. 

Found property, 1:32 p.m.: 97900 block of Shopping Center Avenue. 

Lost property, 3:04 p.m.: 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Fire, 3:27 p.m.: South of Oregon/California border. 

Criminal trespass, 5 p.m.: 900 block of Hassett Street. 

Dispute /fight, 5 p.m.: 97800 block of West Benham Lane. 

Shots fired, 8:04 p.m.: Lower Harbor Road. 

Shots fired, 8:48 p.m.: A citizen reported hearing possible gunshots in the 1300 block of English Court. An officer was unable to locate the source or anything suspicious in neighborhood. 

Suspicious conditions, 9:07 p.m.: An unoccupied vehicle parked at a church building in the 1200 block of Easy Street was secure. 

Juvenile problem, 11:07 p.m.: 17500 block of Surprise Lane. 

Saturday, March 1 

Unauthorized use of a vehicle, 1:19 a.m.: Del Norte sheriff’s office provided information regarding a green Toyota RAV that had been stolen from the Safeway parking lot in Crescent City. Officers were advised to look for vehicle matching the description. 

Overdue subject, 3:18 a.m.: Parents were concerned about their two adult sons who had not returned to their home in the 500 block of Ransom Avenue by the time they said they would be. It turned out they were just home later than they had thought. 

Counterfeit, 10:10 a.m.: Counterfeit currency was received by a campground in the 1600 block of Highway 101 was turned over to police for investigation. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 12:12 p.m.: A non-injury fender bender between two vehicles at Fifth and Railroad streets was reported for insurance reporting purposes. 

Hazard, 1:14 p.m.: 600 block of Pioneer Road. 

Vehicle repossessed, 2:13 p.m.: 400 block of Oak Street. 

Driving complaint, 2:26 p.m.: An officer counseled juveniles on poor driving habits and reckless endangering following a complaint from two citizens at Oak and Hemlock streets. 

Hazard, 3:42 p.m.: 1100 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Bike/skateboard complaint, 3:41 p.m.: Juveniles reportedly skateboarding on park benches in the 500 block of Easy Street were gone from the location upon officer arrival. 

Suspicious conditions, 5:18 p.m.: 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Fire, 5:23 p.m.: 7100 Vista Ridge Drive. 

Suspicious conditions, 5:57 p.m.: A citizen reported having seen a man jumping over a fence at Chetco Point Terrace gated community at dawn, nearly 13 hours earlier. 

Information, 6:59 p.m.: A citizen reported that a group of children “charged” his car while he was in it on Ransom Avenue. No contact was made. No crime occurred. 

Suspicious conditions, 7:15 p.m.: 16200 block of Highway 101. 

Suspicious conditions, 7:36 p.m.: 200 block of Memory Lane. 

Field interview, 8:39 p.m.: An officer contacted occupants of a van parked at Harris Beach. They had just pulled in to eat dinner and would be heading out shortly. 

Criminal trespass, 8:56 p.m.: 98000 block of Rivendell Lane. 

Unlawful entry of motor vehicle, 9:44 p.m.: An unknown suspect attempted to gain entry to a vehicle while it was parked at the bowling alley. Slight damage was done to the back sliding window. 

Explosion, 9:53 p.m.: Officers heard loud explosion coming from the harbor area. A nearby deputy heard it too and believed it to have been a bottle rocket type of firework, although the source was not located. 

Intoxicated subject, 10:29 p.m.: A citizen reported several intoxicated people getting into a vehicle to drive. Officers contacted them before they left private property in the 300 block of Memory Lane, and they took a taxi. 

Juvenile problem, 10:56 p.m.: 1400 block of Chetco Avenue.

Brookings police made three traffic stops resulting in one citation. 

Sunday, March 2 

Lost property, 10:47 a.m.: 16400 block of Lower Harbor Road. 

Suspicious conditions, 6:03 p.m.: 700 block of Second Street. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 10:29 p.m.: Pelican Bay Drive.

Brookings police made eight traffic stops resulting in four citations. 

Monday, March 3 

Fire, 12:05 a.m.: The report of an explosion and possible flames showing near the hills of Azalea Park was reported from the 97600 block of North Bank Chetco River Road. Upon investigation, nothing was found to be on fire. 

Theft, 8:37 a.m.: 16300 block of Grootendorst Lane. 

Fire, 11:43 a.m.: Brookings fire units responded to the  17300 block of Carpenterville Road. 

Warrant service, 7:38 p.m.: 16300 block of Lower Harbor Road.
