Animal complaint, 6:42 a.m.: A report of a cow on Highway 101 in Smith River was transferred to Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office.
Harassment, 11:18 a.m.: An officer assisted a business owner in the 1200 block of Chetco Avenue regarding a harassment complaint.
Suspicious conditions, 11:35 a.m.: 1100 block of Chetco Avenue.
Found property, 12:58 p.m.: A wallet found on the beach was turned in to Brookings Police Department’s lost and found.
Suspicious conditions, 2:28 p.m.: An officer contacted a transient male who was walking through a parking lot looking into cars in the 900 block of Chetco Avenue. The man claimed to be looking for some items that had been stolen from his home.
Theft, 6:28 p.m.:A transient male reported that his bag was stolen from Fred Meyer. An officer followed up with the store’s loss prevention department regarding possible video of a suspect.
Wednesday, Feb. 27
Drug information, 12:40 a.m.: An officer assisted a customer at the 76 Station who was having unwanted contact from a transient male. This was resolved civilly.
Fight, 3:20 a.m.: A man was arrested by a deputy for assault in the 97800 block of Court Street.
Animal complaint, 10:18 a.m.: A caller in the 16200 block of Anderson Lane reported someone shot his dog in the rear.
Warrant service, 10:36 a.m.: A man with a warrant called Brookings Police Department to turn himself in. Officers met up with the man in the 400 block of Alder Street and arrested him without incident. He was lodged in Curry County Jail.
Suspicious conditions, 4:15 p.m.: A caller reporting possible illegal fishing activities on the Winchuck River. The call was transferred to Oregon State Police.
Theft, 4:36 p.m.: A woman was arrested for theft at Fred Meyer.
Criminal trespass, 8:27 p.m.: A person was removed from the 96700 block of East Harris Heights Road.
Thursday, Feb. 28
Dispute/fight, 6:16 a.m.: A resident in the 17200 block of Mountain Drive requested a deputy to assist in a family dispute.
Driving complaint, 10:45 a.m.: Several 911 calls were received regarding a vehicle driven all over the road. The driver pulled over in Harbor and a deputy made contact a few minutes later. It was determined the driver was having medical issues and an ambulance was dispatched.
Harassment, 11:11 a.m.: A problem was reported between a student and staff at Kalmiopsis Elementary School.
Assault, 12:23 p.m.: Azalea Middle School.
Assist motorist, 1:44 p.m.: A vehicle was stalled at Hassett Street and Pioneer Road blocking the traffic lane. A tow truck was called.
Non-injury traffic crash, 1:58 p.m.: A two-car fender bender was reported in front of a residence in the 600 block of Old County Road.
Water problem, 3:39 p.m.: A caller reported water shooting up out of the ground at North Bank Chetco River and Blue Jay roads. The county was advised that a storm drain needed repair.
Unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, 5:56 p.m.: The Curry County Sheriff’s Office was informed that someone tried to hot wire a car in the 15800 block of Wenbourne Lane.
Burglary, 5:58 p.m.: A burglary alarm was cycling in the 96300 block of Dawson Road. Electronics had been taken from the residence.
