Tuesday, June 18
Animal complaint, 6:34 a.m.: A barking dog was disturbing the peace in the 200 block of Cypress Street. An officer attempted to contact the dog owner.
Information, 6:43 a.m.: A verbal dispute between a man and and a woman was reported in the 200 block of Cypress Street. The parties separated.
Animal complaint, 9:32 a.m.: An ongoing dispute between neighbors was reported in the 7100 block of Vista Ridge Road regarding a dog at large.
Panhandling, 9:34 a.m.: Panhandlers were reported in the KFC/Taco Bell parking lot. They were instructed to move on.
Abandoned vehicle, 12:55 p.m.: Numerous abandoned vehicles were reported on Moore Street.
Driving complaint, 2:16 p.m.: A vehicle with dealer plates was reported to be driven recklessly with a younger male driver at Fern Street and Pacific Avenue.
Hit and run, 2:32 p.m.: 600 block of Chetco Avenue.
Field interview, 3:38 p.m.: A juvenile on Pacific Avenue was warned for riding a bike without a helmet.
Suspicious conditions, 7:25 p.m.: Oak Street and Chetco Avenue.
Wednesday, June 20
Suspicious conditions, 11:22 a.m.: Highway 101 and Pelican Bay Drive.
Field interview, 12:51 p.m.: Police received a call regarding a person taking photos. Officers made contact and the man who was a representative scouting potential business locations.
Suspicious conditions, 12:57 p.m.: Hall Way.
Theft, 1:27 p.m.: 500 block of Fir Street.
Dispute/fight, 1:31 p.m.: Caller felt threatened by a man at her residence in the 98100 block of Gavin Lane.
Field interview, 2:45 p.m.: Three juveniles were counseled for riding their bikes without brakes in the 500 block of Pacific Avenue. One of the three was warned for disorderly conduct.
Information, 2:44 p.m.: A caller reported a subject in her store that a deputy had been previously looking for in the 97900 block of Shopping Center Avenue.
Suspicious conditions, 4:45 p.m.: A mother having problems with an out-of-control adult daughter was reported in the 98100 block of Gavin Lane.
Forgery/fraud/bad check, 4:49 p.m.: 200 block of King Street.
Child neglect, 5:04 p.m.: A citizen reported driving down the road and found a young child and a dog sitting in the middle of the road. An officer responded to the area and was able to locate the mother. The child and dog were no longer in the road. They were counseled. The mother had also counseled the child prior to the officer’s arrival.
Fire, 5:14 p.m.: Brookings Fire responded to a report of a smoking machine in the 1000 block of Chetco Avenue. No fire was found, only smoke. Owners of the business were notified.
Panhandling, 5:48 p.m.: A man was reportedly harassing customers for money as they were entering and exiting a business in the 500 block of Chetco Avenue. Officers were unable to locate anyone matching the description given.
Dispute/fight: A caller reported his daughter was out of control in the 98100 block of Gavin Lane and another man was trying to hold her down.
Criminal trespass, 7:17 p.m.: Brookings police told a man to not return to a business in the 800 block of Chetco Avenue.
Bike/skateboard complaint, 8:31 p.m.: Two juveniles on Hassett Street were counseled for failing to obey stop signs on their bikes.
Burglary, 9:10 p.m.: A caller reporting an unknown person sleeping in a home in the 98100 block of Tuttle Lane where no one was supposed to be. A Curry County Sheriff’s Department deputy, assisted by Oregon State Police and IPH Security responded and arrested a woman for burglary and criminal mischief.
Dispute/fight, 10:17 p.m.: A caller was concerned about a verbal dispute at the Harris Beach campground that could possibly escalate. An officer arrived on scene to assist park rangers and the dispute was settled between the people involved.
Juvenile problem, 10:56 p.m.: A report was received of several juveniles hanging out and being loud at KidTown after hours.
Thursday, Sept. 20
Harassment, 7:58 a.m.: 800 block of Elk Drive.
Field information, 10:24 a.m.: Two juveniles were warned for not having brakes on their bicycles at Chetco and Pacific avenues.
Animal complaint, 10:26 a.m.: A complaint was received regarding a German shepherd in the 1200 block of Moore Street that barked all day the previous day and was starting to bark again. The caller could not see any food or water near the dog. Contact was made with the owner and water was near the dog. No food was nearby because the dog food is kept inside. The owner was advised of nearby neighbors’ complaints regarding the barking.
Lost property, 12:52 p.m.: A caller reported she lost her Nikon camera a couple of months ago in the 300 block of Fifth Street.
Suspicious conditions, 2:47 p.m.: A complaint was received regarding a man that may have urinated in public in the 600 block of Pioneer Road. The man was counseled on future consequences.
Hit and run, 2:54 p.m.: 300 block of Fifth Street.
Field interview, 3:25 p.m.: Children visiting from out of the area were warned about riding a bike and a scooter in an area reserved exclusively for skateboards.
Reckless driving, 3:30 p.m.: A motorcycle was reported swerving in and out of traffic unsafely in the 16200 block of Highway 101.
Theft, 4:04 p.m.: A man was cited for theft in the 300 block of Fifth Street and escorted off the property.
Harassment, 7:11 p.m.: 800 Block of Easy Street.
Juvenile problem, 7:56 p.m.: A report of children riding their skateboards down the middle of Lower Harbor Road was received.
