Assist public, 1:53 p.m.: A caller in the 400 block of Azalea Park Road was concerned about gunfire when he heard an honor guard performing a memorial salute for a service being conducted in honor of a deceased veteran.

Suspicious conditions, 3: 07 p.m.: 400 block of Alder Street.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle, 10:30 p.m.: A car, with a white Jack Russell terrier in the vehicle, was stolen in the 600 block of Chetco Avenue.
Suspicious conditions, 10:43 p.m.: 97800 block of Court Street.

Sunday, July 28
Minor in possession of liquor, 12:19 a.m.: The report of underage party in the 400 block of Pine Street was investigated and unfounded.
Dispute/fight, 9:49 a.m.: Officers mediated a verbal family dispute in the 300 block of Spruce Street.
Burglary, 9:52 a.m.: A 911 call from a woman in Harbor reported she had arrived home and found an unknown man in her house and her two neighbors were “wrestling with him” at the time of the call. It was found that an older male transient was confused about his location and was transported by ambulance to local hospital.
Dispute/fight, 9:57 a.m.: A loud dispute between a man and a woman at a residence on First Street was reported by a neighbor. Police said neither party was injured and agreed to separate for the day.
Assist public, 10:12 a.m.: A woman on Camellia Drive reported her elderly husband missing. The deputy learned this was the same man who had been found in another person’s house, then transported via ambulance for medical issues.
Disorderly conduct, 12:25 p.m.: A caller reported a woman in a wheelchair blocking the entrance to a store in the 16200 block of Highway 101.
Dispute/fight, 2:59 p.m.: A tourist in the area stopped to take a photo of one of the decorative bears in the 700 block of Chetco Avenue and was confronted by a male transient. The transient was contacted by an officer and warned for his inappropriate behavior.
Found property, 3:16 p.m.: A wallet found at Chetco Avenue and Alder Street was turned in to Brookings police, then later reunited with its owner.
Suspicious conditions, 3:22 p.m.: A citizen in the 17200 block of Garvin Court reported hearing shots fired a few seconds apart and he didn’t think it was coming from the shooting range.
Rescue operation, 3:54 p.m.: Harris Beach State Park.
Animal complaint, 5:33 p.m.: A shepherd dog found on Carpenterville Road was placed in holding pen.
Public indecency, 5:47 p.m.: A public indecency complaint was not as reported as the caller misinterpreted something he saw at Chetco and Pacific avenues.
Loud noise, 5:54 pm.: A neighbor complained of a person revving his motorcycle all day long in the 400 block of Pacific Avenue.
Driving complaint, 5:59 p.m.: An officer contacted a male juvenile on Pioneer Road and advised him it is illegal to ride his off-road motorcycle on the street.
Suspicious conditions 6:30 p.m.: A possible road rage incident was reported to have occurred involving a white Chrysler van southbound from Thomas Creek.
Shots fired, 8:10 p.m.: A resident in the 18600 block of Timeus Ranch Road reported hearing automatic weapons’ fire coming from the area of the shooting range.
Monday, July 29
Driving while suspended, 1:56 a.m.: North Bank Chetco River Road to Lower Harbor Road.
Criminal mischief, 6:25 a.m.: Broken glass was found at an ATM in the 800 block of Chetco Avenue.
Disabled vehicle, 8:44 a.m.: An officer checked on a disabled Tidewater truck at Fifth Street and Chetco Avenue. Cones were placed around it until a mechanic could get it fixed and moved.
Theft, 9:23 a.m.: 16000 block of Driftwood Lane.
Harassment, 10:41 a.m.: Harassment between neighbors was reportged at Hassett and Third streets.
Non-injury vehicle accident, 11:12 a.m.: 300 block of Fifth Street.
Hazard, 11:14 a.m.: Public works cleared the Chetco River bridge of trash that had fallen out of a truck.
Possession of drugs, 12:40 a.m.: On a routine traffic stop at Chetco Avenue and Alder Street, a K9 alerted his handler of drugs in the vehicle. A male passenger was cited for unlawful possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.
Suspicious conditions, 2:04 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of a suspicious multi-colored bus parked at the skate park. The vehicle belonged to an out-of-area club but was broken down and was towed to a local shop. All parties were warned for not wearing helmets and smoking in a park.
Dispute/fight, 2:10 p.m.: South Bank Chetco River Road.
Hit and run, 3:28 p.m.: A citizen’s vehicle was the victim of hit and run in the 200 block of Wharf Street.
Vehicle repossessed, 3:37 p.m.: 800 block of Highland Avenue.
Warrant service, 4:01 p.m.: Officers responded to the report of a dispute in the 900 block of Chetco Avenue. A man was arrested on a valid warrant and the woman was arrested for interfering with police investigation.
Rescue operation, 4:49 p.m.: 99900 block of North Bank Chetco River Road.
Dispute/fight, 6:59 p.m.: Officer mediated a civil dispute between landlord and tenant in the 1200 block of Ransom Avenue.
Driving complaint, 8:28 p.m.: An officer contacted the driver of a vehicle that had been reported to be driven under the influence of intoxicants at Harris Beach State Park. A male driver was not intoxicated.
Warrant service, 9:50 p.m.: A good Samaritan brought a woman to the Brookings Police Department so she could make a report of a domestic problem and get her to a women’s shelter. However, she gave false information to the officer and ended up being arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.
