Friday, July 25 

Burglary, 6:14 a.m.: 17100 block of Mountain Drive. 

Fire, 8:20 a.m.: Harbor Fire Department responded to the 99400 block of Stateline Drive.  

Theft, 9:45 a.m.: The theft of a Samsung tablet was reported from a business in the 500 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Suspicious conditions, 11:34 a.m.: 800 block of Elk Drive. 

Criminal mischief, 1:05 p.m.: Unknown people tore down fencing at Chetco Point Park. 

Intoxicated subject, 2:29 p.m.: Two adult men were contacted in Azalea Park after they were observed drinking alcohol there. They were advised of city ordinances and moved along. 

Child abuse, 4:02 p.m.: 16200 block of Highway 101. 

Dispute/fight, 5:07 p.m.: An officer responded to a verbal dispute in the 96700 block of East Harris Heights Road, which turned out to be a civil matter regarding eviction of a tenant. 

Dispute/fight,  8:42 p.m.: Officers responded to a verbal dispute in the 500 block of Fir Street. The people were separated.  

Fire, 10:11 p.m.: Harbor Fire units responded to beach near Best Western Beachfront Inn. The fire was attended and under control. 


Brookings police made 18 traffic stops, resulting in 17 citations. 

Saturday, July 26 

Loud noise, 2:31 a.m.: A large group of men were screeching truck tires and yelling and screaming at Richard and Easy streets. An officer noticed a group dispersing into nearby homes when he drove by. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 11:29 a.m.: A hit and run accident was reported on Ransom Avenue. 

Missing person, 11:60 a.m.: A child was reported lost at Harris Beach campground, but parents located her before a report could be made. 

Lost property, 12:21 p.m.: 98200 block of South Bank Chetco River Road. 

Dispute/fight, 12:40 p.m.: An officer responded to a verbal dispute between two people in the 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Found property, 1:06 p.m.: A wallet found on Sporthaven Beach turned in to Brookings Police Department returned to its owner. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 1:08 p.m.: 16400 block of Highway 101. 

Suspicious conditions, 1:16 p.m.: Crown Terrace. 

Hit and run, 4:06 p.m.: Del Norte Sheriff’s Department responded to the Smith River area. 

Criminal trespass, 4:20 p.m.: Hoffeldt Lane. 

Illegal dumping, 5:10 p.m.: Oak Street and Pacific Avenue. 

Intoxicated subject, 7:39  p.m.: 98000 block of Olsen Lane. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 8:51 p.m.: A two-vehicle crash on Highway 101 at Lone Ranch Beach was initially reported as a single-vehicle rollover, as the second vehicle was not visible from the highway. Police, fire, and medical responded. All occupants got out and refused medical transport. 

Suspicious conditions, 11:41 p.m.: 100 block of Elias Way. 


Brookings police made six traffic stops, resulting in four citations. 

Sunday, July 27 

Harassment, 1:52 p.m.: 500 block of Pacific Avenue. 

Threats, 2:15 p.m.: Park Avenue. 

Criminal trespass, 4:29 p.m.: 500 block of Pacific Avenue. 

Juvenile problem, 4:59 p.m.: 1200 block of Collis Lane. 

Burglary, 5:31 p.m.: 600 block of Old County Road. 

Dispute/fight, 6:09 p.m.: 200 block of Del Norte Lane. 

Suspicious conditions, 8:07 p.m.: 600 block of Fifth Street. 

Illegal burn, 8:24 p.m.: 4.6 miles past Ludlum House junction. 

Hazard; 10:34 p.m.: Highway 101 near milepost 359. 

Suspicious conditions, 11:04 p.m.: 300 block of Fifth Street. 


Brookings police made two traffic stops.

Monday, July 28 

Threats, 5:33 a.m.: Miller Bar. 

Juvenile problem, 6:51 a.m.: 500 block of Fern Street. 

Theft of services, 8:46 a.m.: 500 block of Fifth Street. 

Burglary, 9:06 a.m.: 300 block of Oak Street. 

Burglary, 11:09 a.m.: 6500 block of Lucky Lane. 

Water problem, 12:08 p.m.: North Bank Chetco River Road. 

Found property, 12:38 p.m.: 800 block of Elk Drive. 

Found property, 12:54 p.m.: 600 block of Old County Road. 

Fire, 1:34 p.m.: Brookings Fire units responded to 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Suspicious conditions, 1:39 p.m.: Lucky Lane and Highway 101. 

Unlawful entry of a vehicle, 2:28 p.m.: Second  and Easy Street. 


Brookings police made traffic 16 stops.
