Tuesday, July 22 

Dispute/fight, 12:13 a.m.: 16300 block of Grootendorst Lane. 

Fire, 7:43 a.m.: 1100 block of Ransom Avenue. 

Assault, 9:49 a.m.: 200 block of Cedar Street. 

Suspicious conditions, 11:41 a.m.: 96800 block of East Harris Heights Road. 

Unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, 1200 block of Ransom Avenue. 

Possession of drugs, 2:30 p.m.: 300 block of Fifth Street.

Threats, 7:55 p.m.: 800 block of Pioneer Road. 

Suspicious conditions: 500 block of Hemlock Street. 

Found property, 7:32 p.m.: Secret Beach pullout. 

Minor in possession of liquor; 10:30 p.m.: Reported at Brookings Police Department. 

Wednesday, July 23 

Dispute/fight, 6:25 a.m.: An officer responded to a report of a woman yelling on Pine Street, but was unable to locate the source. 

Theft, 8:28 a.m.: A camper at Harris Beach reported his wallet stolen. It was later found in some bushes with the cash missing. 

Criminal trespass, 12:20 p.m.: A motel employee in the 400 block of Chetco Avenue requested assistance in removing a person who refused to leave when asked to do so. 

Rescue operation, 12:22 p.m.: A call about a disabled boater was transferred to the U.S. Coast Guard.

Burglary, 1:37 p.m.: An apartment manager reported someone had gained entry to an unoccupied unit in the 6500 block of Lucky Lane and damaged it. 

Runaway, 1:45 p.m.: 200 block of Del Norte Lane. 

Found property, 2:34 p.m.: A wallet found in the 16200 block of Highway 101 was turned in to Brookings Police Department. 

Theft of services, 3:56 p.m. A citizen in the 500 block of Fifth Street reported an unknown person has been dumping garbage in their receptacles.

Tree down, 4:06 p.m.: Parkview Drive and Dodge Avenue. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 4:55 p.m.: Smith River.  

Criminal trespass, 8:04 p.m.: 99300 block of South Bank Chetco River Road. 

Intoxicated subject, 9:56 p.m.: A possible intoxicated driver was located by officers in Brookings. No alcohol was involved. 

Shots fired, 11:47 p.m.: Social Security Bar.

Thursday, July 24

Loud noise, 7:32 a.m., 97900 block of Klamath Avenue.

Hazard, 7:50 a.m.: Center of the Chetco River bridge.

Hit and run, 10:16 a.m.: A citizen reported the driver side mirror was damaged while parked in the 500 block of Chetco Ave.

Harassment, 11:15 a.m.: 900 block of Chetco Avenue.

Counterfeit, 11:17 a.m.: A business in the 800 block of Chetco Avenue received a counterfeit $10 bill.

Probation violation, 11:47 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 500 block of Fir Street for failure to report to his probation officer. He was  transported to jail.

Non-injury traffic crash, 12:41 p.m.: North Bank Chetco River Road.

Animal complaint, 1:13 p.m.: Mouth of the Winchuck River.

Counterfeit, 1:27 p.m.: An officer took possession of a counterfeit $20 bill that had been passed at a business in the 600 block of Chetco Avenue.

Suspicious conditions, 1:43 p.m.: A possible trespasser was reported in the 16300 block of Highway 101.

Animal complaint, 3:04 p.m.: 1300 block of Wharf Street.

Suspicious conditions, 4:14 p.m.: 16200 block of Highway 101.

Field interview, 5:04 p.m.: A verbal warning was given to an adult transient for flying a sign without a business license at the corner of Fifth Street and Chetco Avenue.

Animal complaint, 5:08 p.m.: 500 block of Ransom Avenue.

Loud noise, 7:01 p.m.: Police received several calls of a loud party on Limbaugh Way. The homeowner was warned for disorderly conduct.

Rescue operation, 7:23 p.m.: 97900 block of Holly Lane.

Animal complaint, 7:50 p.m.: 500 block of Hassett Street.

Field interview, 9:37 p.m.: An officer warned two men for disorderly conduct  after an officer observed them setting off firecrackers near Ransom Avenue and Crestwood Place. The men told the officer they didn’t have any more.


Brookings police made four traffic stops, all resulting in citations.
