Friday, Feb. 22 Possession of drugs, 10 a.m.: A detective investigated a man for drug possession in the 800 block of North Second Street. Lost property, 11:57 a.m.: A caller reported a lost cell phone in Brookings. Theft, 1:41 p.m.: A nursing home facility reported one of their residents was a theft victim, but the theft occurred in the county, so the case will be turned over to Curry County Sheriff’s Office. Juvenile problem, 4:49 p.m.: A caller reported a girl was out of control. Driving complaint, 9:18 p.m.: An intoxicated male driver wrecked his vehicle driving into a fence in the 16000 block of Boat Basin Road. A bystander helped push his truck out of the fence. A deputy in the area arrested the driver for DUII after observing him driving. Saturday, Feb. 23 Suspicious conditions, 12:52 a.m.: Lundeen Lane. Found property, 2:13 a.m.: Keys were found in the 300 block of Wharf Street. Salvation Army referral, 11:10 a.m.: At the request of the women’s shelter, Salvation Army assistance was provided to a young female with a small child in the 1200 block of Chetco Avenue. Identity theft, 12:57 p.m.: An officer is investigating a resident’s identity theft by a family member in the 800 block of Old County Road. Dispute, 5: 01 a.m.: 800 block of Fawn Drive. Dispute, 5:34 a.m.: 800 block of Fawn Drive. Vehicle impounded, DUII, 11:59 p.m.: A business in the 800 block of Chetco Avenue reported an irate intoxicated man in the drive-thru. The male driver was arrested for felony DUII and felony driving while suspended. He was lodged in the Curry County Jail. Sunday, Feb. 24 Fire, 7:21 a.m.: Harbor and Brookings fire departments responded to a trailer fire in an RV park in the 98100 block of West Benham Lane. Harassment, 12:38 p.m.: A man was cited for harassment in the 900 block of Chetco Avenue and he was warned not to have any further contact with victim. Probation violation, 3:50 p.m.: 900 block of Chetco Avenue. Illegal dumping, 5:53 p.m.: Alder and Pine streets. Dispute, 6:08 p.m.: A physical dispute between a man and a woman was reported at Alder and Spruce streets. The woman left the scene, and the man was found to have a small amount of marijuana. Dispute, 6:33 p.m.: A physical and verbal dispute was reported in the 600 block of Old County Road. The woman was issued a citation for harassment. Disorderly conduct 7:30 p.m.: A man from out of the area was looking for a ride to Crescent City. The taxi driver refused to provide a ride after he became obnoxious and belligerent. The man was later arrested for disorderly conduct and minor in possession. Monday, Feb. 25 Theft, 11:18 a.m.: 1100 block of Ransom Avenue. Criminal trespass, 12:21 p.m.: Merrill Lane. Dispute/fight, 1:04 p.m.: A civil problem regarding a water dispute on Brown Deer Lane was transferred to Curry County Sheriff’s Office. Found, 1:28 p.m.: Pills found by a citizen in the county were turned over to Curry County detective for disposal. Lost property, 2:59 p.m.: Money reported lost in the 800 block of Chetco Avenue had been misplaced and was found by the caller. Hazard, 9:30 p.m.: A mattress in the right lane of southbound Highway 101 just south of Benham Lane was removed by a deputy, Suspicious conditions, 9:49 p.m.: 800 block of Fawn Drive. |
