Friday, Feb. 8 

Hazard, 12:49 a.m.: 1200 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Criminal trespass, 1:39 a.m.: 1100 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Dispute/fight, 1:46 a.m.: 500 block of Fern Street. 

Lost property, 11:11 a.m.: Citizen reporting she lost a ring at a business in the 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Theft of services, 12:15 p.m.: 29700 block of Ellensburg Avenue. 

Animal complaint, 3:50 p.m.: Lost chihuahua in the 800 block of Midland Way. 

Suspicious conditions, 4:06 p.m.: 200 block of Lilac Lane. 

Disorderly conduct, 5:35 p.m.: Mill Beach access. 

Assault, 3:55 p.m.: 1300 block of Tanbark Road. 

Fire, 8:46 p.m.: Smoke and embers reported on the rooftop  a residence in the 97800 block of Chilcote Lane. Harbor and Brookings fire departments responded. 

Hit and run, 10:10 p.m.: A vehicle was struck in the 600 block of Chetco Avenue by an unknown suspect. 

Saturday, Feb. 9 

Disorderly conduct, 4:03 a.m.: Police received a report of a man who had possibly been smoking dangerous drugs in a business bathroom in the 16200 block of Highway 101. The man came out and started knocking over shelves then  left on foot. 

Criminal trespass, 10:50 a.m.: 98000 block of Gerlach Lane. 

Disorderly conduct 12:44 p.m.: 15500 block of Cedar Lane. 

Theft, 2:02 p.m.: A juvenile took an item from a business in the 600 block of Chetco Avenue without paying for it. The juvenile was located and returned to the store to pay for the item. 

Suspicious conditions, 2:23 p.m.: 98300 block of East Cougar Lane. 

Possession of drugs, 3:19 p.m.: A traffic stop led to a driver being cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana on North Bank Chetco River Road. 

Intoxicated subject, 3:56 p.m.: A caller advised of an intoxicated person running around Floral Hill Drive. 

DUII, 5:06 p.m.: A business owner in the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue reported an irate customer inside the store. One man was arrested for DUII, and two drug paraphernalia items were seized from the vehicle before  it was impounded after a consent search. 

Theft, 5:17 p.m.: The theft of a wallet at a tavern was reported in the 600 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Disorderly conduct, 5:30 p.m.: A caller reported juveniles on skateboards and bikes in the area who were taking turns lying in the middle Memory Lane near Buena Vista Loop. An officer arrived in the area, but was unable to locate anyone on bikes or skateboards. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 6:30 p.m.: A vehicle hit an elk in Smith River.  

Warrant service, 10:38 p.m.: An officer contacted two men in a vehicle in Azalea Park. The passenger was cited for a failure to appear on a warrant issued from the Reedsport Municipal Court for possession of a controlled substance and less than an ounce of marijuana. The occupants were advised of park hours and told to move along. 

Sunday, Feb. 10 

DUII, 2:16 a.m.: 1100 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Found property, 1:18 p.m.: Easy Street between Fern Avenue and Fifth Street. 

Hit and run, 1:36 p.m.: 200 block of Wharf Street. 

Criminal mischief, 2:11 p.m.: A Parkview Drive resident reported junk mail strewn all over bushes in the area may be from a possible mail theft. 

Burglary, 3:08 p.m.: A citizen reported a possible attempted burglary at a residence in the 1200 block of Ransom Avenue while they were on vacation. Nothing appeared to be missing. 

Disabled vehicle, 3:21 p.m.: The driver of a  motor home notified police that he had a blowout on one of his tires and was waiting for Les Schwab to open in the morning. 

Hit and run, 3:42 p.m.: A citizen was the victim of a hit and run at Fred Meyer. 

Hazard, 4:23 p.m.: Harris Creek. 

Misuse of 911, 3:08 p.m.: Pocket call, no emergency. Phone owner is frustrated with this phone and is going to try to trade it in for one that doesn’t randomly call 911. 

Driving while suspended 5:24 p.m.:  A driver  was cited for driving with a suspended license and  warned for failure to obey a traffic control device at Chetco Avenue and Fifth Street. 

Illegal burn, 5:38 p.m.: An illegal burn in the 1000 block of Easy Street was investigated by Brookings Fire Department. The resident put out the fire. 

Traffic stop, 7:02 p.m.: A drive was given a verbal warning for failure to maintain lane of travel and unsafe passing after a citizen observed this from Pistol River Bridge southbound to Deer Park Drive. The citizen was unwilling to sign a citation and only requested driver be counseled on her driving behavior. 

Dispute/fight, 7:25 p.m.: A civil issue over child custody became slightly physical in the 400 block of Fir Street. The victim didn’t wish to pursue charges. An officer counseled other party regarding similar situations in the future. 

Fire, 10:19 p.m.: An electrical fire in the 1300 block of Ransom Avenue was put out by Brookings Fire Department. Officers also responded to ensure residents were safely out. 

Monday, Feb. 11 

Suspicious conditions, 6 a.m.: 1300 block of English Court. 

Found property, 7:12 a.m.:1600 block of Highway 101. 

Theft, 8:39 a.m.: 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Suspicious conditions, 11:23 a.m.: 600 block of Pioneer Road. 

Hit and run, 11:47 a.m.: 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Warrant service, 1:38 p.m.: A man called to advise of a warrant he was aware he had, and wanted to turn himself in. The man was arrested without incident in the 1200 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Animal complaint, 1:51 p.m.: A complaint was received of a large Rottweiler-mix barking and loose around the 500 block of Ransom Avenue. The owner was located and the dog placed back in the yard.  

Injury vehicle accident, 5:13 p.m.: A fender bender was reported in the 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Theft, 6 p.m.: $100 was taken on Park Avenue. 

Theft, 7:33 p.m.: 200 block of Wharf Street. 

Stalking, 8:44 p.m.: 900 block of Third Street. 

Misuse of 911, 11:02 p.m.: A 911 caller wanting to make additional statements about a previous incident from the day before. Caller was warned on the use of 911 for emergencies only and provided the business line phone number if she needed to talk further. 

Fire, 11:08 p.m.: A resident smelled heavy smoke near her residence from an unknown source. The Harbor fire chief responded, along with a deputy, to check the area. They found one residence in the area with smoke coming out of the chimney in the 97800 block of Chilcote Lane. There was no fire threat.
