Tuesday, April 22

Suspicious conditions, 6:35 a.m.: 1600 block of Highway 101. 

Panhandling, 10:53 a.m.: 1000 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Harassment, 11:08 a.m.: 97900 block of Klamath Avenue. 

Identity theft, 12:44 p.m.: 1200 block of Hub Street. 

Theft, 3:57 p.m.: The theft of a firearm was reported in the 200 block of Wharf Street. 

Dispute/fight, 6:51 p.m.: 1200 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Dispute/fight, 7:54 p.m.: North Bank Chetco River Road. 

Fire, 7:56 p.m.: Harbor fire units responded to a controlled burn on Smith  Lane.

Overdue subject, 8:41 p.m.: The person was located in Brookings. 

Unauthorized use of a vehicle; 11:01 p.m.: Police were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle beginning at the Harris Beach Rest Area.

Brookings police made four traffic stops. 

Wednesday, April 23 

Suspicious conditions, 1:41 a.m.: 600 block of Chetco Avenue.  

Theft, 9:40 a.m.: 500 block of Fifth Street. 

Suspicious conditions, 12:22 p.m.: A citizen reported five men in the women’s bathroom at Harris Beach Rest Area smoking marijuana. Police found this was not as reported. 

Dispute/fight, 1:51 p.m.: 20300 block of Huckleberry Ridge Road. 

Suspicious conditions, 4:03 p.m.: 97900 block of Shopping Center Avenue. 

Non-injury vehicle accident; 5:15 p.m.: Highway 101 and McVay Lane. 

Assault, 5:54 p.m.: 16100 block of Wedgewood Lane. 

Menacing, 7:05 p.m.: A man in the 500 block of Fern Avenue was arrested for menacing and transported to jail. 

Dispute/fight, 11:51 p.m.: 99200 block of Winchuck River Road.

Thursday, April 24

DUII, 10:48 a.m.: A man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol outside the Brookings Fire Department. He was released to a sober friend.

Theft, 11:53 a.m.: A man walked away from Fred Meyer with a shopping cart, but police were unable to find him.

Field interview, 12:53 p.m.: A man and a woman with a Fred Meyer shopping cart were told to return the cart to the store. The were also told never to return to Wild Rivers Motor Lodge.

Elude, 2:20 p.m.: A routine traffic stop near Chetco and Pacific avenues turned into a pursuit southbound on Highway 101 into California. California Highway Patrol and Del Norte County Sheriff’s Department took over when the driver pulled into the gas station across from Lucky 7 Casino in Smith River. The woman driver was arrested and transported to Del Norte County Jail.

Hit and run, 2:41 p.m.: An officer located a motorhome with a damaged side mirror  and contacted the driver who was unaware that she had hit and damaged a parked vehicle in the 500 block of Chetco Avenue as she was going through town. The drivers exchanged information.

Found property, 10:37 p.m.: North Bank Chetco River Road at Azalea Park.
