Sheriff's Log July 20, 2013

Tuesday, July 16

Jamie Lynn Forslund, 38, of Brookings, two warrants for violation of a restraining order; bail set at $15,000.

Thursday, July 18

Kyle Landen Golden, 29, of Coos Bay, warrant for failure to appear; bail set at $20,000.

Michael Enrique Amador, no age listed, of Eureka, Calif., for an outside agency hold and failure to carry or present driver license; no bail.

Police Log July 20, 2013

Tuesday, July 16 

Theft, 9:30 a.m.: Officer spoke to a former resident who was reporting theft of a personal item which occurred here about a year ago; 16400 block of South Passley Road. 

Information, 10:49 a.m.: Two males in a Ford Focus were caught by a citizen attempting to gain entry to a vehicle; after being interrupted they sped off from the viewpoint in an unknown direction of travel. Officers were given vehicle description but did not locate it in this area; 500 block of Fifth Street. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 12:15 p.m.: Minor two-vehicle accident; officer assisted with information exchange, Helen and Fifth Streets. 

Violation of restraining order, 3:26 p.m.: Officer took information regarding a possible restraining order violation, 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Safety/traffic hazard, 7:06 p.m.: 600 block of Hemlock Street. 

Theft, 9:31 p.m.: Citizen discovered that his front license  plate, Volunteer Firefighter placard, and mounting assembly had been stolen from his vehicle, possibly while he was inside the church; 800 block of Old County Road.       

Suspicious conditions, 10:14 p.m.: Citizen reported subjects with flashlights going up and down the street who had signed their lights into the windows of the back of his house and into his living room in front numerous times, disturbing everyone there. Officers checked throughout the neighborhood. The people with flashlights were gone; 100 block of Tanbark Lane. 


Brookings Police made many traffic stops, took animal complaints, and also assisted the public on Monday, the July 16.

Wednesday, July 17 

Possession of drugs, 1:49 a.m.: A driver on Highway 101 reported erratic driving by another vehicle. Officers stopped the vehicle and an occupant was given a citation for minor in possession. The alcohol was dumped out at the location. Drug paraphernalia was seized for destruction. Occupants of vehicle were not intoxicated. .

Fire, 7:58 a.m.: Brookings Fire responded to 400 Redwood Street. 

Possession of drugs, 7:58 a.m.: 400 block of Redwood Street. 

Suspicious conditions, 9:26 a.m.: Brookings. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 11:11 a.m.: 300 block of Fifth Street. 

Vehicle impounded, 1:32 p.m.: Driver cited for driving  with suspended license and driving uninsured; First Street and English Court to First Street and Ransom Avenue. 

Harassment, 3:52 p.m.: 800 block of Railroad Street. 

Fire, 4:17 p.m.: 300 block of Fifth Street.

Suspicious conditions, 4:35 p.m.: Railroad Street. 

Non-injury vehicle accident, 4:39 p.m.: 300 Fifth Street. 

Theft, 8:48 a.m.: Chetco Point. 

Possession of drugs, 10:16 p.m.: 400 block of Fifth Street. 


Brookings Police made many traffic stops.

Thursday  July 18

Found property, 9:40 a.m.: License plate found on North Bank Chetco River Road. Owner contacted to retrieve plate; North Bank Chetco River Road,  Low Water Bridge. 

Theft, 10:45 a.m.: 600 block of Bridge Street. 

Animal complaint, 12:25 p.m.: Dog barking complaint; 400 block of Memory Lane. 

Criminal mischief, 1:24 p.m.: 98100 block of Tuttle Lane. 

Illegal camping, 2:11 p.m. North Bank Chetco River Road. 

Suspicious conditions, 4:28 p.m.: 13900 block of Highway 101. 

Theft, 5:08 p.m.: Arch Rock Viewpoint.

Court Report July 20, 2013

Nicholas Braafladt, born 1992, of Coos Bay, admitted to a probation violation related to a harassment case and was fined $100 and restitution of $951.04.

Timothy J. Bring, born 1962, of Harbor, had his DUII diversion revoked and fined $490.

Travis Ryan Daniels, born 1988, of Brookings, pleaded guilty and was convicted of failing to perform the duties of a driver and sentenced to 24 months probation, 90 days in jail suspended, a $1,190 fine and a 90-day driver’s license suspension.

Cody Alan Grable, born 1991, of Salem, was arraigned on failing to appear in court on original charges of theft.

James Richard Berry, born 1986, of Brookings, was arraigned on charges of possession of marijuana, three charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, refusing to take an intoxicant test and released.

Cody D. Center, born 1990, of Brookings, was arraigned on reckless driving charges and released.

Angel Ian Gomez, born 1991, of Brookings, was arraigned on charges of driving while suspended.

Richard Jaysun Keehn, born 1957, of Brookings, was arraigned on criminal trespass charges.

Annette E. Preslar, born 1976, of Crescent City, failed to appear in court on possession of marijuana charges. She was convicted and will be fined $1,000.

Samantha E. Ray, born 1990, of Harbor, was arraigned on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance.

Tyler James Robidoux, born 1989, of Brookings, was arraigned on charges of driving while revoked.

Gary Andrew Sizemore, born 1964, of Ophir, was arraigned on a probation violation stemming from a charge of hindering prosecution.

Edwin Charles Smith, born 1962, of Gold  Beach, was arraigned and pleaded not guilty to charges of failing to carry a license. He faces an Aug. 27 trial.

Keenan L. Stumpenhaus, born 1994, of Brookings, failed to appear in court on charges of minor in possession of alcohol. He was convicted, will be fined $260 and have his license suspended for a year.

Deborah A. Baker, born 1961, of Gold Beach, pleaded no contest to having a dog as a public nuisance. She was fined $150.

Jefferey Michael Cooley, born 1968, of Gold Beach, was convicted of disorderly conduct and sentenced to 12 months probation, five days in jail and fined $517.

Benjamin Elliot Monazi, born 1984, of Brookings, was arraigned on driving while suspended and driving while revoked, both felonies.

Richard Russell Rees III, born 1945, of Gold Beach, pleaded not guilty to charges of DUII and refusing an intoxicant test. He is ineligible for diversion and faces trial Sept. 5.

Travel Adrian Trevino, born 1973, of Bookings, had charges against him dismissed.
