U.S. Coast Guard Station Chetco River received a VHF radio call from a disabled vessel near Goat Island. The station issued a Marine Assistance Request Broadcast and a good Samaritan responded and towed the disabled vessel into the Port of Brookings Harbor.
U.S. Station Chetco River received a call from a disabled vessel near Red Point. A 25-foot safe boat was launched to assist the vessel and towed it to the Port of Brookings Harbor.
U.S. Coast Guard Station Chetco River received phone call from Brookings Police dispatch in regards to two separate reports of flare sightings. The Chetco station launched a 47-foot motor lifeboat and Group North Bend launched a helicopter to search the area where the flair sightings were reported. No signs of a distressed vessel were found. At first light the search was made of the area and still no signs of distress were found.
