9:25 a.m.: U.S. Coast Guard Station Chetco River responded to a call from a charter vessel that the pleasure craft Bee Jay was disabled. A 47-motor lifeboat towed the disabled craft back to the Port of Brookings Harbor
12:25 p.m.: U.S. Coast Guard Station Chetco River received a call from the vessel Blue Water providing information about a disabled vessel 60 nautical miles offshore. The station launched a 47-foot motor lifeboat that took the vessel in tow and returned safely to the Port of Brookings Harbor. While en route to the first disabled boat, the Blue Water became disabled. A second motor lifeboat was sent to assist. The Blue Water was also towed to Port of Brookings Harbor.
Tuesday, Aug. 25
11:01 a.m.: Rogue River Search and Rescue Detachment responded to a possible flare sighting at Otter Point. The Coast Guard could find no trace of a distress and determined it to be a false alarm.
