William L. Bill Campbell

William L. Bill Campbell, 86, Brookings, died Aug. 1, 2001, in Brookings.

He was born Dec. 4, 1914, to John and Nan Campbell.

After being stationed in Brookings with the Coast Guard in the early 1940s, he knew Brookings would be his home and returned shortly after being discharged.

Mr. Campbell was a 52-year member of the Sidney Croft Masonic Lodge.

Survivors are his wife, Rena Campbell of Brookings; son, Dick Campbell of Salem; stepsons, Jim Lindley of Brookings and Chuck Lindley of Springfield; foster daughter, Ceola Harris of Oakland, Calif.

Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many people who loved him.

Preceding him in death were stepsons, Tim and Larry Lindley.

A service is planned Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge on Azalea Park Road in Brookings.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations sent to the Curry County Hospice, P.O. Box 6042, Brookings, OR 97415.
