Walter Meehan

Walter Meehan, 80, Brookings, died Aug. 15, 2000, at his home.

He was born in Scranton, Pa.

He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.

He moved to Fresno, Calif. with his wife Ruth and her two sons. His wife taught Marty Robbins to play the piano, his family said.

Later, they moved to San Francisco where he painted the Oakland Bay Bridge for 13 years. They moved to Brookings about 13 years ago.

Survivors are stepsons Russell and William Griffith.

Arrangements are under the direction of Litty Funeral Directors, Brookings Funeral Home.
