Theodore Frederick Kirkpatrick

Theodore Frederick Kirkpatrick, 71, Brookings, died May 5, 2002, at his home.

He was born May 24, 1930, in Northfield, Vt., to Theodore and Alice Sears Kirkpatrick.

He was raised and educated in Vermont. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Kirkpatrick served four years at Travis A.F.B. in Vacaville, Calif. Following his military service he was employed in federal civil service, then worked at Travis A.F.B. initially as an aircraft mechanic, then as a quality control manager. He spent 41 years at the base. He retired May 31, 1992.

Mr. Kirkpatrick married Norma Poland in Reno, Nev., in 1973. They moved to Brookings in 1997.

He enjoyed cooking and prepared a St. Patrick's Day dinner annually for the Vacaville Masonic Lodge 134, where he was a member and served as a past master of the lodge.

He is survived by his wife; daughters and sons-in-law, Tedene and Rodney Loosley of Vacaville; Patricia and Larry Sumner of Lincoln, Calif.; Nancy and Don Houghton of Santa Rosa, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Mary Poland of Sacramento; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Brenda Clark of Barre, Vt.; 10 grandchildren; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Jayne Fullerton of Sunnyvale, Calif.

Arrangements are under the direction of Redwood Memorial Chapel.
