Thelma B. Seely, 76, Gold Beach, died July 29, 2000, at a local hospital.
She was born Nov. 26, 1923, in Monroe, Iowa, to William A. Cooper and Hattie M. (Hegwood) Cooper.
She was raised and educated in Kellogg, Iowa, and graduated from Kellogg High School in 1941.
In 1943, she moved to Oregon and worked in the ship yard in Portland.
She married Lyle F. Seely, Sr., Dec. 9, 1946.
In 1957, she moved to Prairie City and in 1974 she moved to Scappoose. In 1990, her husband died and she relocated to Gold Beach to live with her daughter.
She was a member of the Kellogg Historical Society and loved gardening and animals.
Survivors are daughter and son-in-law Sherry and Travis Kennedy, Gold Beach; half-sister Helen Ververs, Newton, Iowa; grandchildren Michelle Kennedy, Brookings; Michael Kennedy, Phoenix, Ariz.
Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, a great-grandchild, a brother, a sister, a half-brother and a stepson.
