Stella (Tommie) L. Culbertson, 87, Gold Beach, died.

She was born July 9, 1913, in Dunn Center, N.D., to Albert J. Thompson and Sarah Larsen.

She graduated from MacPhail School of Music in Minneapolis, Minn. She taught school in Dunn Center and Taylor, N.D; Hopkins, Minn., and Salt Lake City, Utah.

She married Henry (Hank) E. Culbertson on March 1, 1949 in Ogden, Utah.

After her marriage, she worked for Farmers Insurance Group in Los Angeles and Merced, Calif.

She lived in Gold Beach for 35 years moving from Merced, Calif.

She was active in the hospital auxiliary and the garden club in Gold Beach. She was the organist at Bethany Lutheran Church.

Survivors are nieces Kay Cook, Ogden, Utah; Karen Alsedek, Fayetteville, Penn.; nephews Rodney Thompson, Dunn Center, N.D.; Arley Thompson, Smithville, Mo.

A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, July 24, at 4 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 321 West Fifth St., Gold Beach. Rev. Tim Bruckner will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church or Curry Public Library.
