Stanley H. Jeffrey, 82, Vacaville, Calif., died June 15, 2002, at Sunbridge La Mariposa Care and Rehabilitation, in Fairfield, Calif., following a long illness. He was born Oct. 10, 1919, in Islip, N.Y. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Marines. He was a pilot in the South Pacific eventually retiring as a major. Mr. Jeffrey lived in Harbor from 1980 to 1996. He resided in Fairfield the last five years. He worked in building supplies and lived in Quincy and Reno, Nev., before retiring with his wife to Brookings. He was an avid ham radio operator and was a founding member of Pelican Bay Amateur Radio Club. He enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities. Survivors are daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and Darrel Akers of Vacaville; stepson and his wife, Richard and Paulette Bishop of Red Bluff, Calif.; grandchildren, Christine Akers of Vacaville; Sandra Souza of Escondido, Calif.; Mark Bishop of Santa Rosa, Calif.; Jeffrey Bishop of Arizona. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Carlee Akers of Vacaville; David and Matthew Souza of Escondido; Asia and Sydney Bishop of Elk Grove, Calif.; and Alexandria Bishop of Idaho. Preceding him in death in 1996 was his wife, Ednain. No funeral services were held. Arrangements under the direction of Fairfield Funeral Home. |
