Shirley Dignan Van Orden


A celebration of life will be  at 5 p.m. Friday, June 29, at the Community Center in Ocean View Mobile Estates, 15505 Oceanview Drive. Pastor Bernie Lindley, of St. Timothy Episcopal Church, will officiate.

Shirley was born July 7, 1941, in Wellsboro, Ind., where she grew up on the family farm.

She lived in Brookings-Harbor since 1984. She was employed at Good Samaritan-Hillside Manor, The Hub, The Kitchen Shop and South Coast Humane Society shelter. 

She liked to garden and liked animals, especially cats. Shirley also liked to travel and made several trips to Indiana to see family and friends in recent years. 

She is survived by her husband Bob Van Orden of Harbor and numerous relatives in the Wellsboro area.
