Scott was born Feb. 28, 1967, in St. Charles, Mo., to Clar- ence and Carol Punch.
His family, including his sister Lisa Ann, moved to the Salem area of Oregon where Scott was raised. Scott enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time as well as participat- ing in athletics in school.
Following his gradu- ation from high school in 1985, he entered the U.S. Army and started his law en- forcement career as- signed to the Military Police. Scott’s duty stations included Iraq, Panama and Germany. He was honorably dis- charged in 1991 at the rank of corporal.
Scott was hired by the Oregon State Police (OSP) and was assigned to the Gold Beach office in 1994, where he would spend his entire career. He worked his way up through the ranks and was promoted to ser- geant in 2004. Scott was responsible for the supervision of the six troopers stationed in Gold Beach.
Scott married his wife Stacy Sept. 20, 1997. He was a de- voted husband and father. He loved his wife passionately and devoted himself to her completely. Scott cher- ished his children and was proud of their accomplishments as he watched them grow.
Scott is survived by his wife Stacy; his 19 year-old daughter Haley; his 13 year- old son Derek; and his mother Carol.
Scott is preceded in death by his father Clarence and his sis- ter Lisa Ann.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, in the Gold Beach Union High School gymnasium, 29516 El- lensburg Ave., to hon- or and pay tribute to Scott. A reception will follow in the multipur- pose room adjacent to the gymnasium.
